Looking for medium hosting
 

Hello,

I run a secondary site that acts an annex to my main site (which is hosted with a reputable hosting company). The smaller annex site needs a new home -- it is currently hosted on HostGator, on a shared server.

The annex site is about 9GB and grows rather slowly, maybe 1/2 GB per year or so. I use it to display short 1-minute preview trailers imbedded inside of WordPress pages. The videos are currrently hosted on the same Hostgator server.

I don't think I need a full-blown dedicated managed server for this annex site, but shared hosting at HostGator is not enough, as they now officially discourage streaming video on their shared sites, and I have noticed that the trailers are streaming very slow, a deliberate throttling by HostGator in order to discourage this practice. Fair enough. Each video file is about 20 MB, not huge files.

I need something in between these two scenarios. I don't wish to host this annex site as a subdomain on my main dedicated managed server because of the security issues involved with having a WordPress site on the same server as my main site.

I am open to any offers on this package.

I recently switched to DreamHost from Arvixe after Arvixe got bought by the same company that bought HostGator and made their shared hosting crappy.

It's a shared hosting account and I've got 10 wordpress sites and 2 forums running on there with no problems, the sites run much faster there. They don't allocate servers like HostGator does. Why not try to use VPS?
Dreamhost and HostGator is not bad, for smaller sites :)
