When was the first time you drove a Toyota Prius?

For me, it was late 02 thru to early 03 - T'was a rental from Thousand Oaks.

I liked it but found it disconcerting when the engine 'stopped' while waiting at lights and stuff...

You???

It's on my reverse bucket list - things I'll definitely never do before I die.

Never drove one. Find it highly unlikely I ever will. I don't think I've ever driven a Toyota or a Honda. Not fond of Asian cars.

A Camry is the most American car there is.

LOL at how you formulated the question (as if all/most of us did) :)

SilentKnight 10-28-2015 05:57 PM

I recall a Hustler parody ad from years ago.

"Toyota - from those nice people who brought you Pearl Harbor."

candyflip 10-28-2015 05:57 PM

I've owned one for a few years now, before that I had a Toyota Highlander Hybrid.

NakedWomenTime 10-28-2015 06:09 PM

I've never driven one. I'm not overly keen on the Prius styling. However, the Tesla Model 6 ... yes please.

Never driven a Prius, but driven a Hybrid BMW. Not sure if it's the same, but I'm not a big fan. Something about listening to the motor idle at a stop is therapeutic.

I never drove one either. I took a taxi home once that turned out to be a Prius. I wasn't really paying attention until I noticed how quiet it was and that the motor stopped at lights. That was probably my first nudge towards EV.

onwebcam 10-29-2015 10:49 PM

Never even ridden in one, I like cars that you have to make sure your foot is on the brake at stop lights or that motherfucker is going somewhere quick. The one where the prius driver next to me is rolling up her windows because she afraid she might get too much CO2.

dying to try a tesla as a passenger. please gfy make it possible

slapass 10-30-2015 05:45 AM

I drove the Tesla. Totally f ing amazing. There is a reason that F1 cars now have electric motors/hybrids.

bronco67 10-30-2015 06:02 AM

Maybe the question should be "have you ever driven a Toyota Prius?"

I had one a loaner while my car was in the shop, and I can't say I was unhappy about never needing to put gas in it.
