The naming of YouTube's new subscription service "YouTubeRed" is either genius or retarded. At least Google can control some of the search results but man this sounds like a search nightmare when little Johnny is trying to show grandma his favorite video.

Youtube Red is another Google Fail.
Netflix owns this business model and has the product to justify the subscription cost.

I am a 'youtube creator' and i saw this announcement the other day when i logged into my account. I seriously thought 'sounds like a new adult section for explicit content'. Very weird name, and not only with the redtube association... explicit movie trailers also called 'red band trailer' etc.

Anyone who thinks youtube is not going to load the subscription service with porn is wishful thinking.

It's the only logical thing to do after charging people and not having to please advertisers.

Netflix is the current leader, their shows and movies are declining in quality with the exception of a handful of shows. I think we'll be seeing a new market leader in the next few years.

Why wouldn't they have an adult subscription option when all it requires is a cookie?

The point of removing porn is that all the videos are accessible to everyone, plus more mainstream advertising.

The subscription service will block access to certain videos.
At that point it's trivial to have sub categories under block with one category being porn.

They may not add porn but all the reasons to not have it will vanished with paid subscriptions.
