I will be moving to south or central america in the next year or two. I am seriously considering Uruguay, Nicaragua, Colombia, or Brazil.

Property in Nicaragua is $100-150/m2 this is ridiculously cheap. What ever country I end up in I will be investing in property in Nicaragua. You need to invest $30.000 to gain permanent residency...nice calm country, low crime, friendly people ect...

Uruguay is around 500$/m2 and is a strong contender...its a great country and is very safe and the people are very friendly...

Colombia has the bad boy appeal and lots of prostitutes...I am a studio boss I could probably recruit 100s of models easy, it would stroke my ego a lot to have 100s of models ect...has no investment appeal for me at $1500/m2 I could get 10 appartments in nicaragua for that money...

Brazil is my favorite but property prices are skyrocketing and I can get so much more ROI in other countries...but I just love rio...I don't give 2 shits about the crime, it has bad boy appeal like colombia...

you said you would consider hungary...its an OK country but you would like it much better somewhere exotic...there is nothing special about hungary I live right next to it :2 cents:

It is like Vietnam dude saying - Thailand is not exotic for me. :1orglaugh

Interesting 21 Reasons Why You Need To Move To Uruguay In 2014

I have a thing for Hungarian women so thats one attraction there. Plus is close enough to great skiing in the winter which is another.

So does shovelin' snow and freezing one's balls off all winter.

I'll take "gets old very quickly" anyday.

That why I moved from NY to FL 13 years ago!

CZ and Hungary have that as a drawback for sure. Not sure I want to deal with winter again. But the women there would sure warm things up!

sperbonzo 10-31-2015 12:00 PM

Uruguay or Chile

You guys covered Uruguay above, and most of that applies to Chile also. VERY nice place to live including taxes, cost of living, low business regulation, stable banking, weather, etc, etc, etc....

Forest, if you have questions about Budapest, feel free to get in touch.

ps. The easiest way to avoid the CEE winter is to skip it by spending that season somewhere else (SE Asia, as an example)

Mexico is safe unless you are involved in the drug business. Canada is too cold for me.

CarlosTheGaucho 10-31-2015 01:44 PM

From all the places I've traveled and nationalities I've dealt with, eventually there are only a few places where I can imagine to live in. This is Germany (selected regions), US (selected states), Scandinavia, Holland, Canada, perhaps also Switzerland or UK.

All of which can be quite dynamic, but also rather expensive places to live. So considering the bang for one's buck factor coupled with the fact that it's quite a liberal, safe country with solid business environment (if you'd be wiling to incorporate), sure can't complain about living in Brno, Czech Rep.

I will for sure thanks! I will be keeping a house here in Fl (at least one of them) and will rent it out part of the year so that may be an alternative for a few months of the worst of the winter

Chile could be a good prospect as I wouldnt have to travel far to ski in the winter

Would you be able to expand on living in Brno? How is the cost of living in there? Can you access a lot of what you need on bicycle and what not? Ok place to have a family with a young kid with you?

Austria, half way between Vienna and the Saltzkammergut, to be in easy driving range of each. Sometimes I think that if I'm good in this world, G*d will send me to Vienna. All for very subjective reasons - I like the culture, the people, and the landscape, from the Alps to the Danube valley, the architecture of Austria in general, but Vienna especially is such a magnificent fusion of so many cultures and histories and tastes - there is always something wonderful and surprising around every corner - magnificent, but also very human and fun. I was once stuck in Budapest for a conference and was having a hard time with the language and way things run there - and decided to escape on a swift train to Vienna, and when I arrived, it felt like a liberation, like the sun finally was rising after being in a very dark place for a few days. I mean no insult or harm to Budapest, but the sun just shines brighter for me on the other side of the frontier.

With all due respect to the strippers in BRZ, these women all seem to have thunderthighs and are somewhat keel-heavy, as in bushel-basket butts. And enough cellulite to set up a
mining and export business. Surprising because the Brazilian Porn I've seen over the years usually shows slender, petite, and often lanky women. Not the best examples of Brazilian Beauty!

bear in mind that Brazilians tend to be extremely social, almost to to the point of obnoxiously social. So even though Brazilian girls tend to be hot, they're also likely to be more annoying than similarly hot girls from the less social and thereby less annoying cultures of Argentina or Uruguay. Personally, if I had to pick a place in that part of the world, i'd go with either BA or Punta.

I like the sound of NZ but so damn remote if you travel regularly and I worry that the population are not going to be super intelligent like say if I compare with the population of London (UK). May sound a bit silly but if you're a big city guy living amongst thick farmers, you might not have that much in common with the local population.

How does Christchurch compare with Auckland?

Europe is TOTALLY out for me - economically & geopolitically a disaster. Most of Europe will be administered by the muslim league decades from now, the parts that are not will be very difficult to live in as I see nothing but war and disruption coming up there.

Brazil - the asses are too big and my friend from Rio has warned me about the crime.

Chile, Argentina, Nicaragua, Panama all sound interesting.

China is a pretty nice place to live these days but my top choice though would be Southeast Asia (Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia). Mostly english speaking, you're pretty central, good geo-political circumstances, economically moving forward apace with close ties to China. Worth mentioning Singapore has been voted easiest place to do business this week (New Zealand was second) out of almost 200 countries:

Singapore tops World Bank business ranking for ninth year - BBC News

That's insane, you must have the figures wrong though. You're saying a 1000 Sq Meter home for maybe as little as $100k ?

I know absolutely nothing about that country but it doesn't look like many people speak English and its right next to Honduras which is like murder capital of the world. But still, show me a Nicaragua property site!
