After last week's episode of The Walking Dead left viewers with more questions than answers, it looks like the most important one has been addressed

Consider this your spoiler warning for the rest of the post, dear reader.

For the first time since the show's pilot aired in 2010, Steven Yeun's name was removed from both the opening and end credits, confirming that the actor's fan-favorite character, Glenn, was indeed killed off.

Talking about the controversial and unforeseen death last week, showrunner Scott Gimple said that fans would eventually see Glenn again, but refused to go into further detail. According to the press release that included his statement, however, it looks like Yeun will return to the show to film a few flashback scenes with the rest of his Walking Dead clan.

Unfortunately, other questions that came at the end of the the season's third episode couldn't be answered with last night's episode. Instead of continuing where the story left off last week, Gimple removed the fourth episode completely from the show's narrative arc, and chose to air a stand-alone style episode focused on Morgan.

Hopefully, there will be more answers next week as the show approaches its halfway mark.

The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.

With them covering back stories over the next few episodes, I think they are fucking with the viewers so they can't say with certainty that Glen made it.

yeah or some weird 'time/contract' issue with the actors could be in play :2 cents:

Back stories are a cop out. The last one was boring.

Glenn is alive.

The Morgan episode sucked. Hated everything about it.

The missing credits are just a smokescreen.

nico-t 11-04-2015 03:30 AM

why is glenn a fan favorite, probably the most boring character on the show. Not a loss.

i thought the morgan episode was entertaining even though it was a filler.

Ok .......

pornguy 11-04-2015 05:58 AM

Im currently watching Season 5. and the back and forth with the stories gets annoying. Is that what I have to look forward to in 6 as well?

pornguy 11-04-2015 05:58 AM

Oh, and what the hell ever happened with the prequil Fear the walking dead?

The theme for this season seems to be "What level of killing is acceptable?" On the one extreme you have the Wolves, who believe that everyone has to die. On the other end of the spectrum you have Morgan, with his new Aikido code, who believes that no one should die. We all know that it's somewhere in the middle, but which character represents that middle best?

I found the Morgan backstory long, but I think it's going to play heavily into this season. Especially with his decision to let the wolves go, pick up a gun, and leave with vital Intel on Alexandria.

I enjoyed the Morgan episode.

arock10 11-04-2015 07:53 AM

They blew through their budget with the first 3 episodes, so now they can only afford to show two actors an episode for the rest

That's how the first season of TWD was too. First season is almost always shorter.

Didn't care for the most recent episode but I'm sure things are about to get real interesting!

scuba steve 11-04-2015 08:49 AM

if you read the novels, he dies in those...so can't be a huge surprise...

brassmonkey 11-04-2015 08:53 AM

proceed at own risk includes spoilers!!!!

michael.kickass 11-04-2015 09:42 AM

How could they?!! I won't be able to sleep tonight.

mineistaken 11-04-2015 03:09 PM

Wait, so Glen being explicitly eaten alive was not enough for the fans to know that he was dead?
My first thought was that it was the other guy, but that was not realistic, it would not look like that it that was the other guy on top of him. That would be cheap trick.

stach14 11-04-2015 05:44 PM

The way it played out they can go in several directions and be able to convince everyone this could actually happen lol

bronco67 11-04-2015 05:51 PM

The creators of the show know what's going on...and they want to keep us guessing. I'd put money on Glen not being dead.

Morgan is annoying as fuck. If I was Eastman, I would have killed Morgan when he asked me 500 times.

It was deliberately vague in the way it was shot.

I think having Glen survive that would make the show lose credibility. He was in an impossible situation to get out alive, realistically.

Of course. My point was - it was too much for it to be that it was not Glen being eaten or at least bitten. So if he was not bitten that would be a cheap trick.

Something along the lines like you have a character and his car, then it shows car being crashed. And then it turns out to be that the car was some random car, same make and same model and the character is actually alive. Cheap trick.

Yeah, pretty much what I meant by cheap trick.

If that was the other dude who was only being bitten it would have looked differently then it was filmed even from that angle. I bet that they even filmed that scene without the other dude on top.
