If you follow the rule of thumb sure.
However the ratios are similar to the smoker I use for events and love it.
This is just a smaller version of my other cooker.

And $1,500 is one hell of a bargain. I bought my Big Green Egg over a year ago for $1,300, and it's not nearly as pimp as that.
