U.N. watchdog: mustard gas was used in an ISIS Syria attack

Quote:

[B]ut Friday, the Nobel Prize?winning U.N. watchdog organization has concluded "with the utmost confidence? that mustard gas was used in an attack near Aleppo, Syria, in August. The finding, made in a confidential report seen by Reuters, would be the first official confirmation of months of media reporting and speculation by foreign governments that mustard gas is being used by ISIS. The report doesn?t assign blame, but the Islamic State is the likely culprit given that the attack occurred during a skirmish between its fighters and another rebel group in the area. At least two people were exposed and a baby killed by gas in the incident. ...
Chemical weapons still being used in Syria, likely by ISIS.

Bombs away :upsidedow

"The only way they could have gotten mustard gas is if the US gave it to them!"

Actually, Mustard Gas and even Napalm are relatively easy to make ...

I suppose the intent of this story is to justify sending many, many more American military to Syria than those measly 50 we've already sent.

Like we need more American troops putting their lives on the line, fighting for the "freedom" of foreigners, who dance in the streets whenever an American soldier is killed there? Hey, it happens in Iraq and Afghanistan all the time. Syria would be no different.

Not really -- it's a heads up to those that are in the shooting range ... An ISIS chemical weapons attack on an enemy base is not out of bounds ... Get out of range or take them out are the only options ...

Except that the red line was all about Assad using chemical weapons, not ISIS.

Of course, our government has such a hard on for Assad that they'd likely drop bombs on his head anyway were it not for Putin's presence in Syria.

Messes don't get any messier than this :(

klinton 11-07-2015 11:10 PM

you mean it was used in 2013 when world's public opinion was so angry at Assad that they literally would accept any (well, almost) boots on the ground operation to overthrow him ? with those pics of dying kids from gas attack flashing world media ?

or you mean now, in 2015 ??? but Syria gave up its chemical weapons 1,5 year ago, so...

draw your own conclusions what is real and what is fake from what we see everyday in media:winkwink:

Of course, they're already on the PR campaign trail with words like "avoid" which history will substitute with "create" :

U.S. Wants to Avoid Second Cold War - or Hot War - With Russia - Bloomberg Business
