I agree, English has actually shed a few letters down to the 26 we have today. letters they still used back then.

The KJV was also written to be very poetic. It wasn't meant to sound like commonly spoken language.

Yes and no... agree that it is poetic but it was also meant to be simple and straightforward and easily understood so the language was "common" in the sense of not being elevated above the commoners level of education or knowledge.
