That's not really shocking. A lot of public services and businesses run on really old software. Rebuilding old software is a monumental task and not something to be taken lightly. It usually just gets put off and put off and put off, until it crashes like this.
Pay attention to the computer screens you see the next time you are in a retail store. Seeing Windows 95 is not uncommon, and that's a retail store that most likely does not have heavy needs. |
