Man reportedly killed in Paris attacks posts surprise Facebook post
A man from Spain posted what will probably be the most important Facebook update of his life. Alberto Pardo was reported dead in the Paris terror attacks on Friday. Police showed up at his family's home to report he had been shot dead at the Bataclan theater where gunmen opened fire on 1,000 concert goers. More than 80 people were killed in that attack alone.
Yet Pardo was very much alive and far from danger. In 2012, he had moved 300 miles away to Strasbourg where he now lives with his girlfriend. Pardo found a stream of tributes on his Facebook wall and quickly corrected them in a status that reads in part, "I'm looking at myself right now and I'm alive."
He also called his mom to tell her the good news.
Spanish newspaper El Pais reports another Spanish citizen was also wrongly reported dead by French authorities. Spain's prime minister said that so far only 103 of the more than 129 victims have been identified.
