The Lords Prayer

The Church of England wanted to get more youngsters involved with the church so they decided to run an ad campaign.
They created a short advert with a few words from the start of the Lords prayer. The idea was to have the advert shown before the new Star Wars movie in the run up to Christmas.

Odeon cinemas have blocked the advert because they don't want to upset other faiths or people of no faith..

What a load of fucking bollocks.

The UK is a Christian country, it's in the run up to Christmas. The advert is less than a minute long.
The UK is fucked.

Church ads should be banned permanently.

Churches are advertising in front of the Star Wars movie.. or wanted to. How can you defend that? I suppose it is free speech but a totally crappy move.

The UK is a secular country, so is US and most western countries. Wonder how will you react on a hindu or muslim ads before the movie, how about hanukkah ads?
Freedom of religion means people are free to practise religion, ANY religion or not practise a religion, it does not mean freedom to shove Christianity down people's throats and suppress all other religions, see that will be the exact opposite

thumbs up for ODEON

It's about time that freedom of religion includes freedom from religion.

Insofar as ODEON, they can choose to display ads from anyone they like. In this case, they decided not to accept ads for a church. If anything, those who believe in a free market and freedom of choice should be glad they live in a society where a company can decline an advertiser.
