Well actually it was ISIS who started killing al Qaeda first. They were originally a break away of al Qaeda and still allies, but then turned on them.

Actually, they were their own outfit then joined up with alqauda then splintered off.

rayadp05 11-24-2015 07:19 PM

That's cool. If only there was a way to get rid of all of them ...which of course, is impossible.

dyna mo 11-24-2015 07:21 PM

And this just shows how fast troops on the ground would annihilate isis. We don't need 100000 troops and 50 years.

I know. They're not the boogeyman. They just haven't gone up against the real deal yet.

Wait until they go up against some highly trained operators.

That's not true.. Sure just like in Iraq we could wipe the floor with them in probably a few weeks to 2 months. Well at least we could take all their holdings as far as cities ect.. ect..

However it's then right back to the same thing Iraq & Afghan are that has dragged on for 10+ years.. Dealing with the vacuum of power and the insurgency and war lords which fills the gaps.

There is no quick fix to any of these countries with out "stable" govts that have solid military and police forces, something that just will not happen in any short order as long as there are so many fractions that hate each other.

IMO that only real solution to the Middle East is cut it into pieces and give each sect their own damn states.

Nope. ISIS has no legitimate sovereign territory like iraq.

It doesn't matter if it's legitimate or not, they still hold it and my point is very valid. If we steam rolled them, they would just move to the next country to set up shop or fight as an insurgancy forcing us to keep troops there for the next 10 years. If you steamroll them and leave they just come right back and start it all over again.

Putting troops on the ground is a zero win situation unless you plan to keep them there very long term and take control of the entire place which will not happen..

Why do you put in your thread title 'What Russia couldn't do' and leave the US out of this equation? I thought the US was fighting ISIS as well?

These wars are mostly Muslim v Muslim. After we invade, rid the country of a despot, or/and install a more moderate leadership and start elections, they revert to killing each other.

Absolutely.

There are plenty of places for them to move to. Now ISIS is fighting in Syria/Iraq. Beat them there, the money and leadership moves to Yemen, Somalia, Nigeria, or a lot of other countries. Nothing will change, while people are willing to die killing others, over who worships Islam correctly.

Once the oil runs out. There won't be anything to fund the wars or fight for.

Which is why the West must confiscate everything the Arabs acquired from having the oil.

True that!

Any serious media confirmed the news yet?
Because... you know... Fox.

SilentKnight 11-25-2015 02:51 PM

So Al Queda won't be getting a fruitcake and Hallmark from ISIS this Christmas.

Round'em all up...put them on a small, desolate island and make the resulting skirmish pay-per-view.

My op was and is still valid. Isis is not smart and are not organized and simply occupy space. The fact that the entire upper brass was in the same space and time with a suicide bomber allowed direct access to that group is very revealing.

It's ludicrous to assume that level of military might would take the entire remaining world 50 years to eradicate.

Uh, nope. You do realize those are legitimate countrys right? Studying military history shows the complete loss of any and all advantage with out legitimacy throughout the history of warfare.

It wasn't the entire upper brass but rather one of their cells which controls a certain area. If you don't think these guys are smart and organized you seriously need to do some reading. They are the most well equipped and organized terrorist group that has ever existed.

They are not just a terrorist group but are acting as an actual govt in the areas they take over. They have judges, health care, collect taxes and run an extensive business racket. Before they even attack an area they had had spys there ahead of time top figure out who the rich people are and how they make their money. They then go in and kill them and take over their operations or charge them protection money.

They are extremely organized.. You seriously need to do some reading if that's what you believe as you couldn't be more wrong.

dyna mo 11-25-2015 05:13 PM

It was the entire upper brass of the fucking golan heights region. A key and big region they had complwte control by an extremely important leadership group of isis.

It was a huge blow to Isis.

At my level of convo, details such as that arent needed to be explained out. I wrongly assumed you were there. If I'm going to have to waste time explaining every nuance and subtly of a topic, I'll just fuck around instead.

I seriously need to realize who I'm speaking to here, I'm fully fucking read up on this topic

Your level of conversation is not as high as you think, when you are calling guys who have taken large areas of land including major cities from two sovereign states and kept them idiots. They are about a 2 billion dollar a year operation at this point.. That's a lot of money for terrorists to have their hands on.. To do what they have done cleanly shows anyone with a brain that they aren't idiots..

Yes this bombing is a big blow, but it's not going to end them.. One of their biggest strengths has been their ability to move large amounts of troops where they need them at a moment's notice.

dyna mo 11-25-2015 05:29 PM

jeez crock, from YOUR OP article:::::::::::::::::::

Regional experts suggest the successful suicide mission against such a significant affiliate shows a degree of on-the-ground vulnerability on the part of ISIS. They say it could be interpreted as justification for those who argue that only ‘boots on the ground’ can truly deal a crushing blow to ISIS, whose reported underground hiding places ensure that while they will suffer casualties from airstrikes carried out by the U.S., France and others, such tactics are unlikely to deal them a mortal blow.

Joshua G 11-25-2015 05:41 PM

i call bullshit. this smells like a mossad operation. :2 cents:

dyna mo 11-25-2015 05:52 PM

SA has the 3rd biggest military on the planet. they can easily go in there and wipe the floor with their fellow muslims and regain the muslim authority thingie (scare the living shit outta the other crazy muslims and get them back in line).

dyna mo 11-25-2015 05:55 PM

btw, that's not my view, that's my man Bernie Sanders'ss view. he thinks SA and the other richie gulf states should shoulder the load of eradicating isis and making sure the next [insert acronym] doesn't rise up in its stead.
