I smoked from 14 til 24 yo, then when my first kid born, i stopped it, and since , i did not touch a cigaret.

You just stopped just like that? No nicotine patches, no gum?

Gave up and moved to vaping back in september

I've been smoking for 5 years, and stopped after a bet with a friend. That was five years ago. Today, I can't believe that I've been smoking, I can't imagine myself with a cigarette.

Smoked 35 yrs.

Switched to vape about 2 years ago.

I heard that vape is as bad as a normal cigarette.
How's it working out for you?

Basically you are still getting the nicotine that you crave, but not any of the other 'nasties' (Tar, carbon monoxide, etc) that you find in smoking tobacco.

You still get the hand to mouth action of a cigarette and the feeling of getting a good draw of vapour... But its at a minimal cost and you can do it anywhere.

Really its a no-brainer to switch, and if the tech had been here before, I would have switched years ago. However imho, its only just caught up to a standard that equals my cigarette experience.

Smoked from age 16 to 56. I stopped after a heart alert. After 3 days in an hospital ICU, it took 3 months with nicotine patches and gums to stop the addiction. I am now 70 year old and I never smoked again. I have no doubt that I would be dead if I hadn't quit smoking.

Yeah, just like that, i did it for my son, it was the best reason to stop :)

Never smoked a sigarette, but smoke a pipe. For about fifteen years. Once a month depending on my mood. :)

Nonsmoker. I started when I was 14 or so, and smoked until I was about 42. SO GLAD I quit. You have no idea how different everything is when you no longer smoke.

It's been five or six years now, and cigarette smoke makes sick.

I smoked for 20 years, and it was so fucking hard to quit, I'll never smoke again or even try vaping. I used the patches and toothpicks (and food). Gained 50 pounds and I'm in the best shape of my life :D

I'll smoke a cigar a couple times a year

never been a smoker of cigs but the last 5 years I smoke hookah daily. Shisha not weed in the hookah and like vaping it is 95% less harmful than smoking cigs.

Smoked for 18 years, 1 to 1.5 packs of Marlboro lights a day, stopped in 2010 and never lit another again

Not sure where you got this info? Used to smoke hookah all the time until reading the exact opposite. Shisha can be just as bad, if not worse on your lungs than cigs

Im a smoker so I like when a girl is too, makes me feel less embarrassed about how much I must stink to non smoking girls.

Someone I work with said they used Vaping to help them quit. I am not a fan of how vaping looks but at the price of cigs these days I might give it a try.

I think the reasons are obvious and known to everybody. Number one (or even the sole) reason being that it is not healthy. But hey, maybe he will have some unheard of reasons...
