How Often Do You Donate Your Blood ?
In my case, i donate blood since the age of 18, around every 2 months, mainly because i have a rare blood type (AB+),
if it can help people, it's fine. |
Normally once or twice a year. I have B+ blood, so the red cross calls me frequently.

Just remember to eat a large meal before. I have forgotten a few times and end up super dizzy.

You know the industry is hurting when you see a thread like this.
|
Every couple of months in aid of liver problems caused by excessive drinking and diabetes caused by being super morbidly obese

They don't want mine, or they didn't - That might have changed - I should look into it...

I only give blood when it is absolutely necessary for tests or other things. Selfish I know but I really do not like needles.
|
Only stupid animals in nature bleed. fucking nice try though vampires.
|
I did it twice in my life, but I am needle-phobic (and a pretty serious case, can't even watch a needle being used on TV).
As much as it prevented me from ever doing injection drugs, it is also a big blocker when it comes to giving blood. |
Done it only twice. Been getting tattoos every couple months ever since, and I heard I'm supposed to wait at least 6 months to be able to donate. Just waiting for the time I can again.
|
Never done that...
|
I tried donating once but the hospital kept asking questions like, who's blood is this, how did you get it, etc .....
|
Every 6 months

In my country men are able to give blood 4 times and women 3 times per year. No monetary compensation is ever paid out, but you can choose a gift for yourself or send a teddy bear or other toy to hospitalized kids.
I am, for some reason, very sensitive to needles and I have fainted more than once when giving blood. So I end up going in 2-3 times per year, tell them that I might faint and it's written in my journal too. They usually offer me a bed with a belt, so that if I faint, I can't fall down and I take it most of the times. I really do not like going in but since I am otherwise completely healthy, there's really no reason for me not to go. Being scared and possibly fainting is not dangerous and I can work with that a few times per year to help out. |
Every 2 months.

When you go in to give blood they have a questionnaire. And one of the questions if you are a man is: Have you had sex with another man even once since 1982. And if you answer "yes"...they don't want your blood. |
I cant as well.so never
|
Only once, I hate needles.
Should do it more though. |
Two or three times a year when there is a local drive here in town - one organization or another has a blood drive every so often and they always call me because I'm well known here in town and they ask me to help promote stuff.

I have been wanting to get over the fear-of-needles and get in there and do some good for the planet

If I see a blood drive going on and I have the time, I give. Otherwise, I don't go out of my way to donate blood.
A couple of month's ago I was talking to a guy who sells his blood for extra spending money. What I found most interesting of what he told me is that they don't have any sort of set rate but a range that varies from visit to visit, but they also give other little gifts such as movie tickets, gift cards, gas cards, etc. |
