I think its a traditional dance that goes back years.

That was really enjoyable to watch :)

It's cool to see some of the footwork and spinning, I can absolutely see how some of these things were at some point incorporated in modern-day breakdancing.

Yes, that's made of an old Soviet army clip. Those guys are dancing in tarpaulin boots which were used in the old Soviet army. Those are absolutely inconvenient not just for dancing, they are inconvenient for anything. I was "lucky" to wear them in army... Your heels hurts and bleed after a 3 kilometers run. Real awful shoes.
