Could this kick start private plane ownersip
China's first manned electric aircraft is ready for production | Daily Mail Online
Its battery powered. Price £103,000 (about the twice of the cost of an electric car). Sure it only goes 40 mins or so, but this is the first wave. The advantage not just its only going to cost £2 for a flight (I presume plane fuel is not cheap), but as its got fewer moving parts, I presume its much much safer and much less having to mess around with maintenance and checks. Then think if car firms start making them, as they can lower costs with robots and such in manufacturing. So it could be just as cheap to buy a plane as it is a car. |
Unless it is an " Experimental " airplane in the US you will be required to have a license. which means they wont sell well for a while.
