Verotel.cc Pishing Website. Beware!

I got thday two messages from "[email protected] that looks like this:

Subject: RUM and Flexpay postback failures 08-Dec-2015

Message:
Dear Merchant,

We received a message from our system that there was an issue with your Remote User Management setup on your website #xxxx40, .

Could you please see if there is a problem with your server?

If you would like us to take a look at this for you, please provide us with the FTP login details for your website's server.

Thank you,

Merchant Support Department
Verotel Merchant Services BV
.

This is obviously a attempt to get Verotel merchants access data that most likely to be used for fraud purposes.
- Verotel does not need your ftp access details ( they have it already )
- Website address ( verotel.cc )

So, if you are a verotel merchant and you get a message that looks like this, do not reply! It's a scam!

I'm forwarding this to Verotel.com real merchant support, hopefuly they will do something quick to take these motherfuckers website down soon before they do some damage.

This is also our domain, it is just unofficial and is mostly used for testing. Sorry for any confusion. :2 cents:

After speaking with jason it appears the Verotel.cc domain is ovned by verotel.com as well. They use that domain to send emails. However...all the info described above made me
think that it's a pishing website message. People that are familiar with this stuff know what i'm talking about.
This kind of messages should be sent from the .com main domain not from .cc or any other domain extensions that sometimes might appear suspicious.

yes, next time please use something like

Verotel.cc WHOIS, DNS, & Domain Info - DomainTools
Verotel.com WHOIS, DNS, & Domain Info - DomainTools

so you will see it is their domain :winkwink: have luck :)

.cc means "dot credit card" IRL (In real life)

Just what I was going to say. Whois info can't be trusted.
