Ok guys, it seems with every day, we see more Scammers threads here on GFY. Today someone was impersonating MechBunny trying to scam more folks. I understand it's a sign of the times but it doesn't make it any less annoying that we (myself included) have been scammed or attempted to be scammed.

So I just registered PornScammers.com , it will be a place for guys to list the bad apples of our industry. Whether you have been scammed by an Affiliate not paying you or someone scamming you in any way (content, domains, phishing scams,etc..), as long as it's porn related, you can list them on the site.

I hate scammers and it's time we have them listed in some type of database so we help each other avoid them.

I was thinking of a Forum type site but broken down into categories:
Affiliate Scammers
Content Scammers
Web Design/Programming Scammers
etc...

I am open to suggestions and quite honestly this will be a community site so your input does matter. If anyone wants to help with the design/skinning of the site, let me know. Let's make this happen :thumbsup

A couple of weeks ago someone was impersonating ZuzanaDesigns too. In another 2 weeks it'll be ElevatedX, TMM, Mojohost, or who knows who...

As far as people looking to contact us safely:
- If you have me on your skype already, and someone adds you claiming to work for us (without me saying they are going to add you) - please verify with me. We work out of one office in Poland and do not outsource any staff. Any IPs of ours that you are able to capture should resolve to Poland.
- The only people that quote anything work at our company are me and our office manager, Kuba.
- I never add people randomly to skype to pitch them anything, and if I do come to someone with something it's only people I carry on regular dialog with.
- I *never* ask anyone to exchange paypal for paxum or any crap like that (it fucks with my accounting, and as a development company we don't do a lot of ad buying or anything to suddenly need paxum or payoneer funds)
- We never accept payments via BTC, Yandex, Webmoney or any other sketchy or anonymous payment system that is not typical of adult. I like to know who I'm working with and do not accept anonymity when it comes to business - and neither should you.

and a general rule of thumb:
- Do not trust contact information you searched out yourself in the skype directory for instance. The proper channels of communication with a company are always listed on their website. Us and every other company doing business in adult lists contact information on their sites.

As for your idea, i'd go with more of a blog style layout with people reporting the scams to a central place rather then a forum, and maybe even some kind of newsletter. A forum will get spammed by bots, and not alot of people will regularly check it for it to be successful.

Go with the bbPress forum theme.

Exactly. It will always be one side of the story, unless you stick to cases that include police records... and in that case your site is useless as well.

Thanks guys. Even if the site ends up helping one person not get scammed, it would be worth it.
I can remember when we hardly saw threads about scammers but it seems they are more frequent lately and honestly it sickens me to see these scammers lurking and preying on us. I don't want Gfy to turn into some other forums where scammers are running rampart. So hopefully this site will help so we can see who they are and it's a centralize place where we can check and see if the person we are about to deal with is trustworthy or not.

I swear there have been more than one instance when I read threads where a person got scammed, and then someone will post that "I warned you about xxxx in another thread months ago". This site may not stop the first person from being scammed but it may save the 2nd 3rd etc person from being scammed as well.

As for who to believe if someone reports that person scammed them, the other party will be given the link and they can respond to the complaint or accusation if they feel they have been unjustifiably accused. It's not going to be a lynch mob mentality. If you accuse or blast someone, you will have to list correspondence/proof and the person accused can tell their side.

That's why I thought of going more forum style so we can see the progress and if it was resolved.

You know, some people in the past have actually faced legal action when all they did was promote people in their hall of shame who have fucked others over. It's sad but true so be careful. Make sure you document information carefully and clearly when posting something.

It would be a shame if they pissed off some people with particular skill sets. I personally would not want to make enemies like this. Trolling is all fun but ruining peoples names with unconfirmed gossip is kind of suicidal.

There have been a number of lists before, it can be challenging to stay a breast of all the scammers...

As food for thought, what if your primary service was an API could be polled to alert an owner if an affiliate/member that registered was on the list?
