iPhone 6 - anybody have one?

What are your thought. Just hit upgrade eligibility with AT&T. Currently using a Samsung Galaxy Note. I haven't had an iPhone since the 4.

Pros? Cons? Serious question. Thanks for feedback.

I have the 6+ - and I love it.

I would look at Samsung edge.

Once you try a grownups phone you will wonder why you ever used a dumb downed "smart" phone like the Apple phone.

Pros: Great pictures, super fast (A9 chip), 3D Touch is pretty useful, battery life is good. Continuity is cool - seamless usage between apple devices. You can handoff a call from one device to another (phone to iPad to computer and vice versa)

Cons: Expensive, All the other usual things that android can do that iPhone can't. Customization, replaceable battery etc. Also unless you have a cover for the phone it can be pretty slippery.

I think apple has the best scroll on their devices. No lag at all when swiping on the screen.
The touch ID is super fast also for unlocking the phone.

I tried 4x switching from Iphone to Samsung/Android and every time I get a buggy phone that needs to be restarted at least once a day. If youre calling, texting, and just browsing the internet its a great phone. If you're a power user and needs the capability of multi-tasking then stick with the samsung. I had a note 4, (3 of them) in the span of 5 months. Never again will I get an android based phone. The way I look at it is this...Apple makes phone and they use their own software - tried and true. Samsung/lg/motorola all use the same version of android but different hardware...there will always be bugs somewhere.

may be google it and see feedbacks

Porko 12-15-2015 11:43 AM

I have an iPhone 6s and I totally love it. 100% satisfaction.

The only thing I want is a smaller version, like the Iphone 5. Everything else is great.

:thumbsup

gnawledge 12-15-2015 11:45 AM

I have 6S+ and it's quality. I've had the note 3, Samsung s6. Nexus 6, and droids suck.

The aforementioned features make a difference. But the mail system and iMessage is a deal breaker for me.

Other than downloading my own ring tones like a little girl, there isn't much I can't do.

Buy a mophie juice pack.

So why not get an iPhone 5? Or is it the features of the 6 you want but packed into a smaller package? Lost...

I thought it was too big too when my husband got it. I even made fun of him, but now that I have it, the regular iphone seems so wimpy.

I don't love that I can't use it with one hand cause my hand is too small. :(

The specs don't seem considerably different but the iPhone 5 is much slower than the 6/6s. 5s are good though.

I think Apple might rig them to not work as well. Other than the app store they don't really derive money directly from you for just hanging on to a phone for several releases.

iPhones are cheaper/easier to fix too. Just take it to the Apple store and they'll swap it out for $110 for the 6s and $140 for the 6 Plus. Usually this is the case but sometimes they may not be so kind, I've seen it get done for free.

Galaxies etc, cost $200+ to fix.

6 Plus screens are too expensive for 3rd parties at the moment, this is probably due to the force touch specs of the new screens (not a really useful feature thus far).

So your hubby is cool with the size of the plus. Good to know. You women can carry around an iPad ffs. You have purses. Unless, of course you aren't a purse toting type pf chick

I own just about every brand and operating system. Nothing wrong with Apple.

Apple controls the hardware and software and you getting a better benchmark for hardware that may not appear as powerful.

Same reason why a slower intel chip will beat an AMD chip. Intel generally has better and more engineering so they are able to do more R&D complete tasks with less instructions hence the better benchmark for less cpu cycles.

You'll probably get upset with this due to your username though.

Same goes for Apple and Android.

I will take into account that when I did look at Macs more than 7-8 years ago all I can think is WTF were people and Apple thinking. They were garbage.
Given the ecosystem now though, owning a Mac is actually pretty nice. It's worth it for developers to develop for the Mac because lots of people own them.

dyna mo 12-15-2015 12:10 PM

the apple is a fine device. i would think the only things you'd miss are Google Now, wireless charging, notification LEDs, easy file share between computer and device.

i don't mean that in a bad way, again, the Apple is a fine device, but those are features of Android. even more if you're a tinkerer.

Got the 6, no issues, usual story...

If ya just call, text, email and want shit to work=iPhone

What the fuck. Customizing your shit to get your shit done on your phone is like a 20 year old? What the fuck does that even mean? Is there an insult in there?

marlboroack 12-15-2015 08:41 PM

Had one.. gave it to my mom.
S6 edge user now.. should have waited till the s6 edge plus came out.

adultchatpay 12-15-2015 09:25 PM

MY Iphone 5s still works so i might stick to it until next year.
And with the continuous OS update, it's still up to the mix.

Spunky 12-15-2015 09:26 PM

Have the edge and love it,use a I5 for work and never liked it

Rochard 12-15-2015 10:28 PM

I have an android for my phone and love it. I use an iPhone for my work line and I hate it. The only reason I have the phone is because my phone company was giving them away.

plaster 12-15-2015 10:39 PM

only broke losers ask about the iphone that has been out for a year now.

Real men just do, they don't ask. Fake losers who need internet acceptance ask stupid questions like these.

Craft 12-16-2015 12:55 AM

Love my iphone 6.

Markul 12-16-2015 01:34 AM

I bought two iPhone 6S rose gold for the girls last month, within 24 hours one had a cracked screen cause the stupid teenager dropped it on the floor.

When I look at the iPhone 6S (in any colour) I think it's a girls phone. The design clearly caters much more to females than males and it feels super fragile. It's too thin. It's too round in the edges for my taste.

But the girls love it.

baggg 12-16-2015 02:20 AM

iphones are for people who are too stupid for technology but want to look "trendy, cool and geeky"

I think that's a bit harsh. While it's true that generally speaking, Apple products are very overpriced when looking at the hardware I don't think you can label people what you said.

They work well. Are simple to use and requires little to no prior technical knowledge. They also look good. But I think, that more and more so, the apple brand is becoming something for girls and guys that work in marketing and wear pointy shoes :1orglaugh

XMaster 12-16-2015 02:38 AM

forget iPhone and Samsung. check the last Huawei stuff. They're pretty good :)

Any friends or coworkers who have the Iphone 6 are pretty happy with it, but they are apple lovers.

I switched to Samsung 2 years ago and never looked back. Started with the S4 and then upgraded to S6 edge this summer. It is a GREAT phone.

bronco67 12-16-2015 06:14 AM

I think it's a good phone for people who don't want to look at the hundreds of other perfectly good phones.

EliteWebmaster 12-16-2015 06:44 AM

I do. I have 2 "6" both 128gb. One little known fact that I discovered that perplexed even the hippies at Apple is that if they are both restored in itunes with the same profile, you don't need a second sim card to operate the 2nd phone.

Yes, you can answer calls on the "sim card less" phone when your other phone rings. Which is absolutely mind blowing since you should not be able to receive phone calls on a phone with no sim card. And we are not talking Facetime calls. I can answer any phone calls from anyone who calls me even if they are calling from a Samsung phones.

The folks at the Apple Store found it so impressive, they actually took a video of the actual process when I demo'd it for them at the store and they sent it to Apple. Head office even offered to replace my phones with new ones so I could give them mine for them to find out the anomaly. Apparently the hippies at head office don't know how it is even possible.

So now if I get a call, both iphone 6 will ring (one with a sim card and the other without a sim card). So I can answer one or both of them. Sadly I am not able to make a phone call out of the 2nd sim less phone. But still, it is quite a marvel that it can answer calls when there is no sim card in it.

Anyone else has this happen to them?

seeandsee 12-16-2015 07:13 AM

I will buy iphone 7 xm ok?

slapass 12-16-2015 07:31 AM

I have noticed no real difference between the 5 and the 6. It is a safe bet. you will pay more but not many bugs or glitches.

Battery life is the biggest difference. 5 is horrible for battery life. The 6 is a bigger capacity battery so it's better.

Screen resolution is much brighter and vibrant on the 6 compared to the 5. And obviously size of screen is bigger on the 6.

one benefit to iphone is the "lardass" autocorrect.

MPGdevil 12-16-2015 10:15 AM

There is a reason why Apple are sitting on a 90% profit of the smartphone market, with only a 15% market share. You get cheap components at a premium price.

Just an example

iPhone 6: 1334-by-750-pixel resolution LCD
iPhone 6S: 1920-by-1080-pixel resolution LCD

So much for the overhyped "Retina". The OS and apps may be all great, but Tim Cook and shareholders are laughing all the way to the bank.
