Media Already Saying Christie Wins Debate...Before It Even Happens
I've been watching CNN's pre-coverage of the Republican debate the last couple of days.
Looks like they are trying the same "jedi mind trick" that they did with Carly Fiorina in that debate at the Reagan Library. Remember? It was her first debate at the "grown up table". She had done real well according to the media in the first debate at the "undercard" one and had gained a couple of points in the polls to climb into the "real" debate. And for a couple of days ahead of time all they talked about excitedly was Carly Fiorina and how she was going to set Trump straight. Then after the debate they exclaimed that she was the "clear" winner and gushed about her for days and days. Then the polls came out and she disappeared. LOL Well, this time they are doing it again...but with Christie. You know, the guy they have HATED for the last 2 years and have called for him to resign over "traffic-gate". Well, for the last week they have been speaking of him in hushed, reverent tones and talking about how he is the best suited for national security and defense and will set Trump straight now that he has clawed his way back to the main stage (last debate he was down at the kiddy table). So mark my words...after the debate tonight...the talking heads on CNN and MSNBC will declare Christie as the "Clear Winner" of tonight's debate. :disgust:disgust:disgust |
I've heard CNN say that too the past few days.... We'll see.
I am not watching the debate. Much easier to just read the news reports the following day. |
When I was watching yesterday from about 12pm CST until 3pm CST, they were talking up Rubio a TON. Maybe they changed their tune later on or I missed some of the Christie talk.
Fiorina is a joke. She ran HP into the ground by every measurable metric. |
Downplaying Trump as much as possible. No surprise there, they do not want him.

None of it is a real "debate". It's just a glorified Q&A session with the "moderators".
But as I said...today they were going on and on about Christie. And yeah...they have also been trying to talk up Rubio a lot this week too. I'm thinking the powers that be in the RNC have decided that Rubio or Christie might be "outsider" enough to satiate people and at the same time can still be controlled (bought and sold by big superdonors). |
Doesn't matter! Trump will be gone in a week! He's done!

Watching the debate now...I think I'm wrong about it.
They are barely putting Christie in the conversation and seem to be wanting to watch Cruz and Rubio fight. But my God...that Rubio is like a tiny Hitler up there. lol He looks good, he sounds good. But I don't think there is a person he does NOT want to kill. He's ready to go to war with everybody. Something about Rubio just hits me wrong. He looks in the camera and starts rattling off his practiced lines about the military and he just gives me chills. :( |
So how did the debate go?

Wolf Blitzer had to ask the same question twice, a couple of times that I watched anyway, because each candidate used the question as an opportunity to grandstand and not even answer the question (Cruz plus someone else I forgot who) After a while I just changed the channel. Like you I guess, I'll read about the highlights tomorrow. |
