congress has attached the CISA bill to the must pass budget bill.

Thanks Congress... It's a good thing you work for corporations now they they are "people" and not actual people because of course the people have overwhelmingly voiced third opinion on not allowing CISA to become law on more than one occasion..

When a country votes for people who are bought. They end up with a government. Of the buyer, by the buyers, for the buyers.

The solution is simple. Look at the politicians with the smallest election budget and vote for them. It might not end up with a lot of great politicians, better than great politicians bought and paid for.

I don't understand why completely unrelated bills are permitted to be joined and passed as a group. It happens in Australia's parliament too.

mikesouth 12-16-2015 05:00 PM

and this surprises you why?

and what have you done to try to stop this age old practice?

and you wonder why Trump has the support he does.....

The problem is not Republicans or Democrats the problem is Republicans AND Democrats they are the same people masquerading ass different to give the electorate the illusion that there is some sort of choice involved.

Because if they had line item veto or vote per bill then they would get nothing done. The onl reason these idiots get anything at all doe is because they stuff in all these bills for this guy's special pork program or than one's.

Trump hasn't [promised to stop any of this kind of BS and he wants more ability to spy on people. Don't fool yourself. Trump has his popularity because he says retarded shit his fans love. Don't fool yourself into believing his crap about not being bought. If he could get elected, he will have zero power to get anything done.

I don't understand this at all. I know it's common and it's always been done this way, but it's pure bullshit.

"Let's pass a stimulus bill but Frank wants a water park in Florida and Sarah wants a bridge to no where and Tommy wants to change a part of Obamacare and..."

A law should be a law. Not a law and ten other things.

thats true. he's never done anything bipartisan before. never donated to both parties, never went to both partys functions, never belonged to both parties. what could be possibly accomplish, getting along with both parties?

& of course, a republican president will have zero power with a republican congress. hilary & bernie will do much better.

crockett science. isnt that the term around here?

They need to just vote on every damn bill, while line item could be neat it would just mean every thing the aposing party got into a bill would just be vetoed by the pres. If they vote on each bill as its own item, then it puts focus on each and every bill and enlimates the ability to stuff bills full of special interest pork.

It wouldn't solve anything with CISA though as it seems just about everyone wants to give the NSA more power to spy.

rowan 12-18-2015 09:09 PM

Read in a book last night that a bill reforming consumer credit reporting was linked to one that permitted people to carry firearms in national parks. Those two go hand in hand, no wonder it was passed!

There is a serious cybersecurity problem in the USA.
There are some protections in the bill and in the amendment added to what may be called the Ominibus spending bill. By definition: omnibus is the inclusion of unrelated items. That is the way the House rules read ...
  1. The government's information servers are under constant probe and attack.
  2. The public utility structure's information servers are under constant probe and attack.
  3. Private database servers containing personally identifiable information as well as personal and business credit are under constant probe and attack.

I suggest you read the bills and for expediency, search; ctrl+F 'crim' and get to the substance of the bills and not listen to the talking head's (usually biased in one direction) interpretations.

You need to have a look at what the ACLU thinks about CISA.. You are being very naive if you think it's about Securty. They are increasing their ability to spy on citizens of this country.

https://www.aclu.org/blog/cisa-isnt-...t-surveillance

Keep in mind, the CISA that was just passed is even worse than what that article was written about. You clearly haven't read it yourself if you think this bill doesn't do serious harm to our right to privacy..
