Best hotel in red light district..

Gonna go with some people to Amsterdam.. They wanted to stay in red light district from 24th to 27th..

Any nice reasonable luxury hotels we can stay in?

:thumbsup Radison Blu is a good choice, otherwise there is the Hilton DoubleTree which is right next to the red light (5 min walk) and close to Central Station. The new venue for WMA.

Krasnapolski is awesome, but make sure you get one of their apartments in back of actual hotel, right off RLD but far enough so you miss the late night noise. HUGE apartments for amsterdam.

Also centrally located with the front on Dam Square next to shopping, trams , etc.

Hi Jason, you know any good Chinese restaurant near the red light?

I liked staying at the Krosnopolsky as well but I wouldn't call it a modern, luxury hotel. You could try one of the 'chain' Radissons or whatever.

Corner of Damrak street and Dam square; upstairs in the building to the left of the monument facing it from Damrak Street.

Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam is the most luxurious in the middle of the red light district. But it also has a very classic interior.
The Doubletree by Hilton is much more modern and it has a great rooftop bar but personally I found the rooms a bit small..

Of course you almost never go wrong with the Radisson.. But if you really want something special in this neighborhood I would go for the Andaz hotel..

Concerning the Chinese restaurant...

Better go to New King on the Zeedijk (red light district) but make sure you make a reservation on forehand..

Otherwise go to Oriental City on the Oudezijds Voorburgwal for some Dim Sum. It looks shitty but believe.. it's ok!! you will see only Chinese people inside!!

Another option is the New King, but a reservation is required!! :pimp

If you walk down the side of the Kras, there's a Chinese Rest on the other side of the canal, 3 min walk ;)
