What do you think we will see in the porn biz in 2016?

VR will probably become more well known.

Will we see more paysites started, or indeed close?

For those in the UK we may find Ofcom deals with porn as it shuts down ATVOD.

Sexurity (as in preventing sites from being hacked) I suspect will be important.

Porn will go mainstream and new niches will be explored. Stand up sex, Talk show porn, Concert porn, not that it's anything new from what the Japanese are already doing but aired at daytime and on cable it will get an extra flavor.

Don't they say that every year? Seems like a cop-out when predicting the future.

My prediction: the web will become even more of a controlled censored environment, and that virality / parasitism / media will continue to dictate everything. It's up to porn to choose whether to fall into line, or create an appealing alternative. If the media were the church, you'd know what to do :)

Someone somewhere will note that that there are far more important things for governments to be doing than stop us from watching people having sex.

I think that last one's a bit far fetched actually.

They never sold well on DVD. The money for parodies was made on cable. Years ago, cable would pay $20K - $50K for one title. Up until a few years ago, one porn valley company had an annual contract for a million for all the titles they produced. Today, the ratings for parodies are poor and the cable companies don't really want them anymore. Niche content done well are the top sellers.

I mean, who really pays for porn anymore? You can watch pirated copies of the dvds on any given porn site, such as xvideos..That's what I believe we'll see more in 2016.
