seriously? you have literally twice the murder rate with 10x the population...

Nice. Anecdotes masquerading as statistics...

not safe anywhere

shake 12-22-2015 03:35 PM

There have been some brutal murders lately, all over the news. Still, stats will show Canada one of the safest places in the world.

Some of those news items were for trial updates for 6 year old murder case... Another from LA, wrong country.

pgmorin 12-22-2015 03:43 PM

why take so many exemple instead of giving us the real stat?

Homicide offences, number and rate, by province and territory (Number of homicides)
about 520 Homicides Canada wide every years.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_...als_since_1981
or 1.56 peer 100 000 residents

dont look that much for me. If you want to do a comparision usa is about 4.7 for 100 000 residents

MrBottomTooth 12-22-2015 04:08 PM

Apparently the United states has so many murders that their murder headlines even spilled over into this Canada bashing thread.

Why? Becasue a stat that says 50 homicides in a month does not have the same effect as listing it case by case.
For a country that has strong gun laws there are a lot of people getting shot.
