I'm a video editor looking to get into editing porn videos. How should I advertise my services?

I'm a television production graduate with already a good amount of experience with cinematography, editing and creating fulfilling videos that meet the requirements set by certain clients. However, I'm currently having a really bad dry spell with workâ?¦

A friend of mine jokingly suggested I make porn videos seeing as this industry makes a ton of money. I laughed it off but later began to consider it and decided to research whether this was a plausible career option. It seems like this could be a great job on the side for me, keeping it separate from my primary video work until something comes up again.

I guess I'm here to just ask where I should advertise my services? I was thinking about offering myself for free for the first few videos just to help build my resume for porn editing alone. I was thinking maybe I shouldn't let adult video production companies to take advantage of me just yet so is there any way I could advertise myself to just amateurs and/or cam girls? This will be in the form of a 'you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours' kind of deal, with my services being advertised by my client once what is asked of me has been completed.

As an additional note, I have a professional understanding of Adobe Premiere (general video editing), After Effects (animated logos, special effects etc.) and Logic (sound editing) so I should be well equipped for whatever is asked of me.

Any input on this subject will be greatly appreciated!

may be make a site and put your previous work samples / prices / and delivery time with contact form etc basic stuff and use the website link in your sig. or there are many ways to get clients

if you got great skill there is a lot of work so best of luck

First of all you should register all your skills and previous experiences under a Linkedin Profile, after that I highly recommend you to buy a domain with your name, and start a portfolio website - showing all your previous projects, and samples for what you're willing to do. And after that, start promoting your website and your videos.

You will spend around 50 to 100 bucks to create a good website, but I think this is the most professional way to do that. I can help you! Contact me using the contact form at my signature.

Most amateur porn producers advertise for models on Craig's List so you could try contacting the ones in your area and make a pitch to edit their videos. Keep in mind these people are usually one man bands that pour all their budgets into model fees so they probably can't pay you much if anything. But maybe you can get the experience you're looking for, build a portfolio and then make a pitch to some of the bigger porn companies. It would also help if you could get a real hot girlfriend, talk her into doing porn and then once she gets hired have her put in a good word for you to the director. Maybe you can get your foot in the door that way.

Just one thing: if you're new to the video biz just starting out and have any goals of working for a mainstream (non-porn) TV station or film production company your porn work could come back to haunt you. It's a competitive biz and most mainstream media companies won't look kindly on your porn work past. Make sure you use a fake name like porn stars do.

Do you have the unique talent of sifting through raw footage of hot people fucking without busting any nuts?

If you post anywhere, be sure to reply very fast. Three day gap shows you're not serious. Even over a holiday.
