Easy Photoshop trick to make your photos look more interesting
Hey all,
If you're new to photoshop and are looking to apply a little trick to your photos to make them look more interesting, try applying the "Orange and Teal" look that is popular in a ton of movies right now. http://pix-media.s3.amazonaws.com/blog/892/shia.jpghttp://assets.flicks.co.nz/images/mo...cda29bb3f6.jpghttps://pbs.twimg.com/media/CV8naV8W4AEZfNl.jpg Here's one of our own photos we applied this to. http://www.livecamnetwork.com/bbs-pi...camnetwork.jpg This effect is super simple to do. In photoshop, load up your photo as usual, then click image/adustjment/color balance. Select "Shadows" and drag the cyan adjustment to the left (to subtract some red). You can also try adding some blue by pushing the yellow slider to the right, but just a little. Next, select Midtones and then drag the yellow slider towards the left (to subtract the color blue from the midtowns). You can also try dragging the cyan slider towards the right to add some red, but just a little. And thats it! Happy Merry 2016 go fuck yourself. |

I spend hours every day playing with color inside Davinci Resolve.
It's much more fun with RAW 4k content :winkwink: |

I've been reading about Resolve for a while now - do you recommend it? And can you post some before and after samples of what you've done? |

I will start prepping Wednesday for a short film shoot this weekend. If I have some time to grade my test shots, I will start a thread a post those. Resolve is awesome. The newest version has a full on NLE. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles a Premiere or FCPX might have, but I don't have to dick around exporting and importing. For small projects, it works well. The Lite version is free and it's limitations aren't too limiting...so it's definitely worth downloading and checking out. If you've got some footage you want to send my way, I'd be glad to do something with that too :winkwink: |

Here's another tutorial where the guy explains the Teal / Orange look and how to achieve it.
