Thats too bad. I saw his show at Heavy Montreal a few years ago and was really impressed. Metal lost a huge legend today.

Spunky 12-28-2015 06:47 PM

He was a great front man and musician.RIP Lemmy

MaDalton 12-28-2015 06:48 PM

friends saw them live like 2 weeks ago and said afterwards it was probably the last time. they were right. RIP Lemmy

(i remember i once met him at the circle bar at Hard Rock, called him Lenny, he just grunted "my name is Lemmy" and turned away. i am still embarrassed about myself)

marcop 12-28-2015 06:50 PM

I have a vague memory of seeing Hawkwind in South London in 1972 or '73, when Lemmy was their bass player. He was indeed a metal legend.

rhon23 12-28-2015 07:03 PM

From the article: "He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from the Rainbow which had recently made it’s way down the street, with his family."

He found out about it on December 26th and died two days later? That is aggressive cancer - 2 day tour de force

Looks like another former member Phil Taylor (aka "Philthy Animal") died just a couple of months ago:

Used to be a good looking guy when he was younger.

RIP

Lemmy was Keith Richards level Rock God status and a friend. I've spent many nights is drinking with him elbow to elbow at the rainbow. He was one of the smartest musicians I've ever met, something a lot of people don't seem to bring up.

RIP Lemmy

Some of the hardest rock ever made. Enjoy them as much as now as when I first heard them years and years ago. RIP Lemmy \m/

Met him backstage at the last Ramones show in Hollywood. Nice guy. RIP

He told me I was his best friend. We used to pork spit girls together.

No, seriously though.. legend before he died. I got a chance to see Motorhead a couple years ago. We used to pork spit girls...

Really sad news for Rock n' Roll music.

Far-L 12-29-2015 12:36 AM

Had a Brit roomie when I first went off to school. He turned me on to Motorhead and I opened his ears to the Grateful Dead. Forever grateful for the cultural exchange.

He rocked his cancer just as hard as everything else, all or nothing, take no prisoners, leave nothing on the table, driving real fast and stopping for nothing.

Jay, condolences for the loss of your friend.

RIP Lemmy - We hung out a couple of times at the AVNs. Sadly missed :(

Paul Markham 12-29-2015 04:06 AM

Don Howe, football coach - obituary - TelegraphAnother legend in his own lifetime has left us.

Won't mean much to the Americans here, but we also lost Don Howe this week. And Jimmy Hill a few weeks ago.

EddyTheDog 12-29-2015 06:01 AM

I was just talking to a good friend and he is very upset - Turns out he shared a flat with him in London back in the day - Lots of crazy stories...

Den BongaCash 12-29-2015 06:14 AM

R.I.P. It's really sad when great musicians die.

RIP legend Lemmy

Adult-biz 12-29-2015 02:08 PM

I`ll be honest...was never a fan of Motörhead and similar heavy metal/rock music but I remember as a kid in the 70`s my older brother cranking-up some heavy albums including Motörhead, Hendrix, Deep Purple, AC/DC and so on.

RIP to a clearly loved musician.

Evil Chris 12-29-2015 02:12 PM

Sad. Kinda knew it was coming though. He was not in good shape all year. RIP Lemmy.
