what's better for a beginner? skies or snowboard?

I would think the skies might be easier?

Snowboarding is way easier to learn, unless you have already learned to ski, then you have to recondition yourself.

Got a trip planned?

I'm new at this snow sports thing..

IF you can surf then you can snowboard more or less. If you are good on a skate board you can learn the snowboard as well.

Other wise stick with skis.

I prefer water ski - does not hurt to fall :pimp

Unless you plan to go cross country.. you aren't doing that with a snowboard unless you plan to carry it a lot.

rofl , all the board sports require a skill /technique that take longer to learn .

i could not figure out how to use normal board motherfucking thing lol... but on ice it should be cool.
