Are Twitter and Tumblr the only social media you can use to promote your sites?
 

Besides Twitter and Tumblr what other big platforms can you promote your websites?

Post non nude to instagram.

Pinterest is great for getting traffic, they allow nudity as long as its artsy and not hardcore.

Facebook as well as long as you do non nude posts.

As far as I know those are the only 2 worth putting effort into.

Tumblr is weird. Had been using them for about 2 years, had about 22K followers and then about 2 weeks ago they canned my account. I only added my site URL to every 10th post I made and their reason for termination was because affiliate marketing is against their TOS.

I know lots of people use bots with proxies and maintain 100's of tumblrs but I was maintaining this manually so it was a lot of wasted effort for the 6K unique visitors they sent a month.

What's wrong with Facebook?

Only 6k uniques per month on a 22k follower account? wow, you must have been doing something wrong - did you get much in the way of reblogs?

Never looked at just reblogs but notes overall. Averaged about 500 per day.

I pulled the 6K out my arse; didn't actually check analytics but I can't image it was much more than 6K per month.

I just checked analytics and I was wrong ... Average is about 14.4k per month, which is again, not great when you consider the account can be yanked at any time.

The 14.4k is users on the tumblr blog itself and not click thrus from the blog to my site.
