Wasn't something similar mentioned in one of the movies about him? (not in the latest, but in the one with Kutcher)

J. Falcon 01-05-2016 05:44 AM

Cheap fucker.

just a punk 01-05-2016 05:46 AM

Because he always been a piece of shit.

Matyko 01-05-2016 05:52 AM

if this is true, it is indeed sad :(
i can't think of a reason why he acted like this.

CaptainHowdy 01-05-2016 05:53 AM

Gotta watch the latest Jobs movie ...

I remember him doing something in the Kutcher movie that cost him all parental rights. Basically admitted he wanted to never see his own child. He was a real shitstain and I hope he thought about what he did on his deathbed.

The resolution of the legal case required him to provide Brennan with $385 per month and to reimburse the state for the money she had received from welfare. After Apple went public and Jobs became a millionaire, he increased the payment to $500 a month.

still copypaste texts from other websites, sigwhoring retard? :321GFY

PornDiscounts-V 01-05-2016 06:49 AM

To be fair though... That is like $2000 now.

She could totally have rented a room and lived comfortably on that. Silicon Valley rents didn't exist yet.

Google Expert 01-05-2016 06:53 AM

I watched the new documentary about him yesterday. Seems like he was a real piece of shit. Treated people like dirt.

woj 01-05-2016 07:21 AM

how did he manage to pay so little? is it because of some clever accounting that made it appear like he had no income?

2MuchMark 01-05-2016 07:30 AM

We get it - he wasn't the worlds nicest guy. Who cares? I never met him. His company made some cool products that you may have bought and used. That should be the end of it.

Just like Tom Cruze. Maybe he's a crazy gay scientologist but he makes good movies that entertain me a while, and that's the end of that.

I like meeting celebs at cons but the amount of obsession some people have with celebs is really scary and wrong. Unless that person is me and the celeb is Olivia Wilde of course. It's a beautiful and natural thing. Telepathic love is what it is.

ilnjscb 01-05-2016 08:19 AM

He was devoted to his work. Do you personally know any self-made billionaires who are nice?

ITraffic 01-05-2016 10:00 AM

thanks for creating a world of zoned out zombies who spend every minute staring at a box in their hand liking animated gifs of fat kids riding big wheels.

he should have kept meditating and studying with his guru. maybe his heart would have opened and would have contributed something truly worthwhile to this planet.

NoWhErE 01-05-2016 10:58 AM

I love how GFY is becoming a mirror of Reddit's trending posts.

yup, it was something about him saying it wasn't his child, then paternity tests proved that it was. Still a cheap fucking bastard :2 cents:

Well for me it is not about demonising the person, more about what makes them tick. Especially someone who was so insanely successful :2 cents:

That is why this type of story is interesting, not due to celeb status, 100% due to what makes a guy/girl like that tick.

Scott McD 01-05-2016 11:06 AM

He was a cunt. Nothing new here. Move along...

MetaMan 01-05-2016 11:07 AM

According to Fortune magazine, after his death, Jobs left Lisa a multimillion-dollar inheritance.[9]

Couldn't agree more. It's amazing that no one seems to notice or care what is going on right around them when they're staring at their iPhones. Thanks Jobs for enabling an entire generation of self-obsessed assholes, just like Jobs himself.

Um the smart phone is one of the greatest inventions of all time. I'm not saying he personally invented it. But the fact is you have pure global information at your fingertips. Almost anyone with access to the internet can train themselves to be just about anything with a few clicks of a button. Send data to remote areas in seconds. Connect the globe on a level never seen before.

With any technology it is how you use it. But to say smartphones are not worthwhile you're insane.

:2 cents:

That was WAY MORE THAN ENOUGH.

Even today it is enough for a child (plus I assume that when you pay child support as a dad they count in that mom also contributes something on top).

Colmike9 01-05-2016 12:19 PM

MiamiBoyz 01-05-2016 12:22 PM

He did the minimum required by law. Everyone does that. So what?

Jobs originally was motivated to "change the world" and provide computing access to everyone. It was an idealistic and unrealistic plan. He failed to understand (at first) how business operates (without morals or concern for anything other than profit.)

Once he understood that simple singular fact, he exploited it to the fullest and even though Apple never had a dominate market share they made the most actual cash profit.

You go to any third world/developing country on the planet and you will find super cheap (old) computer equipment that is ALL running some version of Windows.

So who really brought computing to the masses? Who really deserves that legacy?

Smartphones would have been a natural evolution of cellphones without Jobs.

In reality he did nothing admirable except be a shark business man which requires being an asshole. Job well done - Jobs

brassmonkey 01-05-2016 12:22 PM

who gives a shit? do you think she went without something? he probably bought stuff directly for her so the mom could not suck up the money. burt reynolds learned the hard way! :2 cents::2 cents:

Rochard 01-05-2016 12:27 PM

I could care less who paid what in child support.

The entire concept of child support is bullshit. You mean tell me one parent has to pay for the privilege of not seeing or raising their child? If you told me I had to pay $1k a month and I only got to see my kid twice a month for a few hours I would completely pissed off. It's no wonder why people are bitter. At the same time kids are growing up with only one parent.

Thank god I have one kid and my wife and I are still together.

Speaking about that, this is ridiculous. No judge should allow that. Both parents must be allowed to see kids almost daily. Sentences like that only breaks people and kids...

Plus - how cruel must be one parent to not allow her/his kid to see other parent just because he/she cheated or whatever.

Ridiculous.

Ps: of course we are not talking about abusive parents or anything like that.

child support isn't about buying access to your child. it's not about you at all, it's about the child.

Most people can't. Caring for their children is a part of what makes us.

Jobs and those who do similar are scum. Maybe he did believe it wasn't his child, or maybe he didn't care. After it was proven he was the Father, a real man would have stood up and helped the child to grow into an adult.

Tom-LifeSelector 01-06-2016 09:38 AM

Think different...about Steve Jobs :pimp

dyna mo 01-06-2016 09:42 AM

plenty of parents don't give a shit about their children. Jobs isn't special because he didn't either.

gnawledge 01-06-2016 10:33 AM

He probably had baby mama drama. That will mske a dad really pissed off. Plus you don't know the circumstances of the situation, none of you guys were even there. Unless you knew him or was either side of counsel, you can keep crying about it. He made money. Was an asshole. Boo hoo.

OneHungLo 01-06-2016 11:46 AM

So the mother of the child tries to blackmail him for 25 million to "live with basic human dignity"... and *generously* offers to give 5 million of that 25 million to his daughter?

Jobs was a dick, that's a given, and probably could have given more support -- although he did end up paying $4k a month, bought her a house to live in, gave her cars, paid for her tuition to Harvard, but the mother of the child sounds like she was your typical jaded bitch.

More Rochard wisdom.....:error:error

brassmonkey 01-06-2016 12:03 PM

courts make up full blown payments to mothers! burt reynolds pays like 3 million a month or something like that based on income! what a 5 year old doing with that?? should be put in a trust after living expenses are paid! :2 cents::2 cents:

ITraffic 01-06-2016 12:11 PM

well ... reading about it he did do the right thing in the end, accepted her and reconciled.

though he obviously had some emotional problems and issues.

no wonder he is an idol to emotionally damaged and stunted nerds everywhere.

romeo22 01-06-2016 03:32 PM

Seems money meant more for him

DamnSexy 01-06-2016 04:16 PM

He denied paternity of his daughter for many years, i don't think he ever expected to have kids.

he paid a pittance in child support while he was living his millionaire life....maybe he was a genius at work but obviously he was a fucking jerk in his private life.

The OP is only part of the story as Lisa lived with Steve Jobs for the duration of her time at High School. So he was supporting her fully during that period.

He sucked as a father in her early years but even by her admission made up for that as she got older. Nobody is perfect, especially in family situations that can be fraught with emotion.

None of us can expect to look in to this situation as an outsider and understand.

$money$ 01-07-2016 05:44 AM

Better than nothing huh??

SAMANTAmax 01-07-2016 05:50 AM

more money you have, more greedy you get

PirrTaste 01-07-2016 07:17 AM

The mother paid nothing in child support btw(welfare , section 8), and he paid more later on. He didn't want the child but didn't have a option to abort the child or put it up for adoption(Both things a women can do).

He paid $500 which is more than you can physically spend on a child, remember this wasn't in 2016, $500 was worth a lot more back than.

It seems if you make a lot of money men are shamed for not giving it to women
