Looks like we could soon have the iCar
This is interesting, as it could really kick start the electric car business.
|
I read an article the other day that said Apple was buying up all "iCar" related domains.... Something is up.

Who cares?
Another Apple product for morons to buy. WOW |
The Apple Car will prolly be more like a Chevy Bolt or Tesla Model 3 than a Tesla Model S.
Apple is "affordable luxury" (at least for people in US). Most americans can afford an iPhone. Not a lot of americans can afford at 70k USD for Model S. So, I think Apple Car will be under 40k USD. I can't afford Model S. Maybe Apple Car someday if it's not pricy and doesn't suck. |

theyre not gonna build a fucking car. (exactly like the TV service, letdown cause the studio monopolies wont allow a la carte.) hard to know what it will be, but one thing is certain, it will be overpriced & underwelming, & sold as an innovation, even though its useless, like the IWatch. & mark prince will post a thread telling us how great his overpriced ICrap is.

Why it would be good if Apple make an iCar | Wouj Webmaster Site
While we have had electric cars for many years, they have yet to have that kick start to make them sell in huge numbers. This is often due to two main problems.
While PDA’s (personal digital assistant) had been around for many years, (I had a few including the Psion) it was Apple who re-launched the PDA as the iPhone. The iPhone started the smartphone trend. Though what Apple did that was clever was to have the phone apps. While the early machines were great, they had a lack of software, and what software did exist was expensive. The phone apps meant software was free or very cheap. Also suddenly even girls were wanting them. When I was a kid no cool girl had any interest in computers, now its the cool girls who want them. So this is why it could be huge that Apple are (I hope) doing an iCar, simply as they may find a way for it to work. However one presumes that on just rumors Apple is looking at the iCar, it may also kick into action other car firms into developing new electric cars. At the end of the day, no one wants to be Nokia. Nokia were huge until Apple gave us the iPhone. And Nokia simply as yet has never recovered. Why it would be good if Apple make an iCar | Wouj Webmaster Site |
Its the battery.
If they can do one or more with the car battery (cost, weight, size, storage capacity), then you have a game changer. |

You do well to tell. I see some that are clearly EV's, but many simply look like normal cars, and I have to look to see if they have an exhaust pipe or not. I believe a lot of busses in the UK are now electric. I think the plan is to turn all london busses electric. |
OP it may be an open secret that apple is making a car...but teslas track record on quality of construction is an open secret too, mostly noted if you read consumer reports. Tesla is having to replace a lot of expensive parts under warranty, like entire drivetrains. any model X quality problems might bring down the whole operation. If EV cars cannot be made durable, forget it.
point being, silicon valley wizards know silicon, not cars. Toyota or GM will lead. apple cant just hire 5 cent an hour children in china to build their cars like they build phones. just imo... |

Could be useful if they make something like this.:2 cents: |
I can see it now, another worthless device you'll have to sync to itunes to get it to work :1orglaugh
No thanks, I like my computer and phone companies to stick to doing what they know. |

All they have to do is partner with a car maker that makes EVs and call it the idouche! The sheep would line up for it!

Apple will need to sell car under 70k to do better than that. Otherwise, it will be niche. Apple doesn't do niche. They do disruption. |
