Just Bought A Car Off CL Big Mistake!!!

I kept telling myself buy from a dealer not a private party. Even a shitty dealer has to abide by rules when selling a car. I bought a car and right after I paid the piece of shit the airbag light comes on. He was passing the title and theirs no record of the cunt who sold me the car. Apparently there was an accident and his shop repaired the car have hazardly and didn't put an airbag in the steering wheel. The car was super cheap like $1100 but still he should have told me about the airbag.

Can I legally resell the car in California with an airbag light being on?

That's what you get for cheaping out and buying a piece of shit: You got a piece of shit.

Accept the lesson you have been given.

Shake it off. Now, wipe your tears & go down to the nearest Aston Martin dealership and buy a proper car.

Seems like this should be like a 2008 or so post, very strange question.

I've bought allot of piece of shit cars but never one like this. I hate CL if I buy a shitty car off a dealer I can legally return it after 3 days

Who needs an airbag? Just get a pillow and some duct tape, secure it on there in case you crash.

Not many dealers would sell an $1100 car. Your lucky an airbag light is all that is wrong. What did you expect for $1100?

You shop for lemons, you're going to buy a lemon. CL is trash when it come to..well...everything. It's pretty much an online garage sale. And I fucking HATE garage sales.

georgeyw 01-16-2016 05:49 AM

What type of car?

Barry-xlovecam 01-16-2016 06:06 AM

Tell it to Judge Judy ...

$1,100.00 must be a real POS ... sorry for your loss ...

Not true really, I picked up a Dodge 250 V10 from a divorce settlement cheap from CL -- cream puff with a Tennessee title but I was bargaining for a good vehicle.

$1100 cars are for delivery drivers, they don't care what's wrong as long as it runs..

dyna mo 01-16-2016 07:42 AM

Put some duct tape over it. Problem solved.

Ferus 01-16-2016 07:48 AM

Will all of JDL's fake nicks come and post in this topic, at the same time?

Shit happens

If you're going to buy anything even from a dealer, get a Carfax.com report, it can reveal a lot. I live in north Jersey and there were a bunch of cars being sold after hurricane Sandy on CL and other classifieds. Buyers under the impression they were getting a great deal, when they were essentially buying scrap metal... But then again, some were deliberately buying salvage title sportscars a/k/a driveway ornaments to park in front of their McMansions to make it look like they were ballin' :pimp

Throw some D's on that bitch, OP IMO

Rochard 01-16-2016 12:35 PM

I've bought two cars off of Craiglist and it's all good. The truck I bought is twenty-five years old and has 170k miles on it, so it's gonna have some problems. It's been fun fixing it up. We just bought a VW Beetle and I hated it at first, but I've been driving it here and there and it's kind of fun to drive - good enough for my kid's first car.

baddog 01-16-2016 12:39 PM

Nothing wrong with buying from a private party but you should always take it to a mechanic first.

VikingMan 01-16-2016 01:15 PM

These are the type of people who are trolling CL to buy various items and the worst are the car buyers. They think that they will get a car that needs no repairs at all. So say you are selling an older car on CL and discount for all the problems the car has such as cracked windshiled or whatever. You make the price a bargain but these "special people" show up and waste your time only to tell you "well because the windshield is cracked and you have some dings on the door let's knock $1,000 off the price". If you are buying a car for $1,110 then you should be thankful it even starts up and stops when you press the brake pedal.

mineistaken 01-16-2016 01:18 PM

how much for the fix? buying airbagged steering wheel from scrapyard may be an option (as opposed to paying premium for brand new).

Sednub997 01-16-2016 01:31 PM

I did the same mistake bought it and after 6 months sold

candyflip 01-17-2016 10:00 AM

It won't be long before Rochard is here to tell us that he's bought off of Craigslist and it's all well and good in his neck of the woods.

Oh wait...

DVTimes 01-17-2016 10:12 AM

For what you paid, its not the end of the world.

I bought a van for a bit more.

It had a few bugs, but I fixed them.

Its a dream now.
