Is it just me or has the media been hyping every big storm lately? You'd think the world was ending..

Supermarket shelfs are empty. Shovels, generators and snowblowers are selling out. Lines at gas stations. It's a fucking madhouse is some areas. 2ft of snow is predicted in DC. Let's see.

do any of you live where they have blizzards or extreme weather? They are talking about 2 foot of snow and winds up to 50 mph. People buy food before big storms cause there is a good chance they might be snowed in and lose power. This is not a marketing move.. :1orglaugh

I've been though 2 real blizzards where everything shuts down for week(s). I've also been in a town that had no power for over 2 days cause of a bad storm 4 years ago.

this was my hometown in 1978 and we got just 40" of snow but because of high winds we had 10-20 foot tall drifts like this one. 2 foot of snow isn't a lot but with winds above 50mph you can get 6-10 foot drifts

They're saying we could have wind gusts up to 40 MPH here with the snow. :(

Electric company called giving us a warning also.

I'm in Baltimore and they are telling us 1-2 feet of snow. They closed schools last evening and are telling everyone to be ready to be snowed in for a day or two. I went to the grocery store Weds. and there was not 1 egg or carton of milk to be found.

My first time driving in snow was with a 2wd Toyota truck in a blizard.. oh what fun that was..
