So i went to see The Force Awakens for a second time

I know i know. Wasn't overly impressed first time round, but being a fan etc wanted to catch it again in the cinema before it finished.

Place was still packed. I thought after all those weeks i expected it to be half empty. Not sure how much longer it has to run.

Still a decent film (if you can try forget about how much it resembles the first movie A New Hope). Some of the acting yeah was pretty bad but hey, still was a 100% improvement on the previous 3 movies right ??

I watched a YouTube vid recently which says Daniel Craig was the Stormtrooper that Rey uses the force on and makes him drop his gun etc. [actually just read the news article on it and i see it was confirmed so, there's something i never knew first time round] :winkwink:
Daniel Craig had a four-line dialogue inStar Wars: The Force Awakens | Daily Mail Online

Oddest part of the movie for me ?? Well it had to be the ending. Seeing it for a second time i couldn't help but feel the scene where Luke appears and doesn't say one fucking word, yet the camera pans round then spins out and Rey is still standing with her arm out holding his lightsaber. Surely that scene needed just one good line from Luke for people to go "ahhhh nice" and look forward to the next instalment. Instead it just seemed like a loooooooong awkward moment just waiting for someone to say something.... :helpme

Anyway, bring on the next instalment none the less... :pimp

i did the same. caught it in 3d, just because it was the only time that worked for the schedule but it really didn't make the experience any better. I hate 3d as it ruins the colouring, but the movie was still fun to watch.

You can pick apart the plot lines of any movie really, so people who wont shut up about how bad it is are generally people who were never fans of the movies anyway.

Yeah i never bother with 3D now. Considered it since that was a second viewing but still decided against it.

Fuck 3D...

I hate 3D 99% of the time.

I took my wife to see Titanic 3D (no laughing at the back please) and the couple sitting in our row sat for about 45mins of the movie before getting up and realising they were watching it in 3D and came back 2mins later with the glasses... :1orglaugh

It's getting harder and harder to find a 2D screening of blockbusters in MTL... :2 cents:

Back to the OP:
My two big concerns with this episode are:
Kylo Ren (I mean the tantrums and his face) and the fact that the Trooper Chief (forgot her name) kindly auto-destruct the fucking planet she's sitting on just because she's asked by some rebels.
Appart from this it was a good movie overall.

Kylo Ren's voice (mask-on version) is really awesome! Big thumbs up for the ppl who synthesized it!
Overall it was a great movie..

The only 3D movie I watched is Avatar and that's really good one.

I went to see it a couple days after it came out and took a girl with me. She always told me she cried at the end of movies, but I was expecting them to be just sad ones or girly flicks. Movie ends and she has tears running down her face as she tries to wipe them away. LOL.. I was like..."huh? did we just watch the same movie?"

I saw it again 2 days later, by myself.

I never expected a super awesome story line... I just like Star Wars.

Although Lucas obviously fucked up the previous 3 movies, i'd have been interested to see what direction his ideas for a script would have been for this one. Since he said Disney went on their own with this one and didn't use any of his ideas at all...

I saw it last week in 3d with a total of 3 people in cinema.

I saw avatar in 3d IMax in Tempe, AZ and that rocked

I love 3D movies. Not all of them are good quality but the good ones are great. I also have a 3d Samsung tv at home and buy some 3d blu rays.

I loved the new Star Wars!

The Porn Nerd 01-25-2016 11:36 PM

They should have done The Clone Wars instead. That show, tho animated, was brilliant and the best Star Wars thing outside the original trilogy.

PaperstreetWinston 01-25-2016 11:44 PM

dont force it lol

They already told the story in the show. Why rehash it?

I have issues with my eyes, so maybe that's the reason why I don't like 3D.
Or I'm just old-fashioned.
I can watch in 33D, it's still an OK movie.

Scott, you saw what he did when he revamped the originals? (Han Shot First) You really wanted to take that chance? First it was Ewoks (I can let that pass) the next evolution was Jar Jar (he fought to keep that one in for his niece) I dread to see what is hidden in the dark recesses of that imagination.

What shithead casting director decided to choose Adam Driver as Kylo Ren? He was terrible. Also, Snoke looks retarded.

Enjoyed the movie otherwise.

Snooke was a hologram, that's why he was so huge. Also he's some different race, presumably Darth Sidious's (emperror palpatine's master), who learned the way to cheat death and live forever. He can also create life out of nothing.

The first movie was kind of an introduction, and a good one. Next one's gonns rock I expect. Too bad about the Han, he was the best character.

ClickCashEmily 01-26-2016 12:30 PM

IMO, 3D is really only worth it if the movie is shot in 3D. That's why Avatar was so great, and the digitally enhanced TFA was just meh.

I agree that they totally flubbed the Captain Phasma at this point in this movie. While Phasma does have a blaster to her head, it's not like she couldn't have alerted The First Order that rebels had landed, or anything. They don't explain why she didn't alert the rest of the troops that they had been breached.

She does say that lowering the shields won't matter... so maybe it's the "Your little rebellion will never be able to take out our Star Killer Base" attitude that typically leads to the defeat of Star Wars villains over and over. Could also be the "I'll do this thing to save my own hide" that also goes with Star Wars villains.

She's set to be back in Ep VIII, so maybe we'll get some answers then? I heard there is more background on her in the novelization, but I haven't checked that out yet.

My eyes were definitely effected by over use of the VR1 helmet. It has screen right at eyes can only do it for short periods eyes end up stuffed.
