Pretty simple answer here thought:

2 completely different events, different weeks and different day of the week!

Event A: 5-7 style, small gathering with friends and colleagues

Event B: An afternoon fishing â?? which I canâ??t even go to because my boss wonâ??t give me time off for.

And no, I am not getting into the Promo business thank you.

I am doing these small gathering out of my own heart, time and energy. I love doing them for everybody and mostly I Love the Industry that I work in!

I have to agree with this.

Being a sponsor in the Qwebec events, I feel a unnecessary need for an other event, especially planned ONE WEEK before.
The fishing day was an idea, many more ideas are being thrown out there to make sure this event stands out and accommodate as many people as necessary.

Not sure again what is to gain for having this event.
Might be to piss off Michael, but I think it's pissing off the people sponsoring Qwebec.

As a business owner, I want to attend every local event there is and press palms, because I don't have the time to travel to too many trade shows.

But as a paying sponsor of Qnights, I can see how the FuckingLocals event kind of screws things up now. I want people to come to the events that I sponsor to talk about potential new business of course.

I didn't realize that both events were so close together until JFK pointed it out. Today I've talked to a few people that say they only have the time to attend Qnights OR FuckingLocals, but not both. This hurts attendances to both events and reduces the value of sponsorship to people like me.

Quebec is warm this time of year, oui?

This is truly sad and frustrating to me.

Fucking Locals was started well over a year ago and was very well received by everyone who attended the multiple events. Other than mtlxnights which no longer existed when FL was started there was no other organized local gatherings.

I'm not running a business, quite the contrary, so far I've been out of pocket for each event and have encouraged those who attended to bring any marketing or promotional material they desired. Fucking Locals was started and continues to be a community event, no sponsors, just friends and colleagues that enjoy getting together and should they get exposure and business, amazing!

Before planning the most recent event I spoke to many of those that attend past events to see when the best time was for this event and Thursday the 11th was the date that worked best for everyone. The fact any of you think this was in any way deliberate to screw over Michel is extremely insulting, I attend his events, the company I work for gets a booth at Qwebec, why you're trying to make it seem like I'm doing something bad when all I'm doing is something nice is quite hurtful... especially when you say something very different to me in private.

I realize the 2 events are only a week apart, but they are very, very different. I'm planning a simple Thursday night 5 a 7, Michel is doing a Friday daytime excursion which seems quite fun and I'd attend but I will be working. They are very very different, I doubt people need to choose between them, many can't get out during the week, others can't Friday and weekends.

I started Fucking Locals well before there was a Qnights and will continue as long as there is interested in them. I'm sorry if this upsets the sponsors of Qnights and Michel, you're all welcome to set up any banners at any and all FL events so you don't feel like you're losing out in some way.

We gave a long thought about this and waited before replying, since you are now attacking me personally, we will take a moment even if we seriously don't have time for this...

I also want to thank those who had the backbones to say out-loud what they felt was right :thumbsup

That being said we still can't understand what are your real motives.

The main question that comes to our mind is WHY ?

- Why you deliberately put an event in front of ours ?

- Why you so want to throw parties when we're already doing it ?

- Why are you blatantly try to sabotage our events? This is a slap on Patricia's face, mine, and worst; all the sponsors' who are also part of our events.

First, because YOU can't have your Friday afternoon, you feel the need to try to sabotage our event for your own satisfaction!!!

Second : Yes we've been planning an afternoon of Ice Fishing for the ones who could take their Friday Afternoon off... Because we're looking to create not only fun party/gathering nights but also new, fun and unique experiences ... BUT, There is also our NDPD Dinner and Gathering after (Drinks sponsored) ... As far as I can remember, we always acted nicely with you. When we finally started QNIGHTS after demands to bring back the Montreal XNights, we placed our Halloween Party AFTER yours to give you ALL THE CHANCES to do it, Yours location always been TBA (to be announced) and, 3rd FL event been cancelled without notice, so at this point we figured FL was over (the site was even down for a while).... And the Xmas Party, well, this will be our 10th anniversary this year, started them while I was working for Penthouse in 2007. Enough said...

Throwing quality events & gatherings for the Online Adult Industry is our business since 13 years now, and because we want to expand on what we built over these years, we're the bad ones ?

I would like to remind you that if there is such a strong industry community in Montreal compared to many, many other cities we've been, I like to believe it's a bit because we've been working very hard building it and connecting people for now 13 years, and also building a stellar industrywide reputation for now near 20...

And in case it never occurred to you : This IS NOT the way OUR industry works....

When we started QWEBEC Expo in 2003, we've been waiting until Fay move her Montreal June event to San Diego, even then we picked dates that weren't conflicting with any other global event (Sept 3-5). So stepping on others toes never been in our habits.





IMPORTANT : Sorry and sincere apology to everyone, but I really felt like I needed to come put some clocks back to time here without being the bad guy :thumbsup

This will be a fun event no matter what, Michel and Erik you're both stand up guys, I am sure you could work this out.

Agenda? Motive? Erik's events are simple 7 to 11 beer calls for local people. Non-profit. His first one was in November 2014 (listed as: Montreal Meet Up at FUBAR). 2nd one was held in February 2015. He has no agenda or motive, that's just silly. He only wants to organize a little something for locals, not infringe on anyone's business.

Michel, with respect, you started qnights in August 2015. It's a much different kind of gathering which goes hand-in-hand with Qwebec. And I say this as someone who has been one of your show's biggest supporters over the years.

We will definitely hang out on Thursday fellow vegan! I am hoping to find on that menu something decent to eat (other than french fries and salad) :)

The way I see it, there's only one say to settle this: Everyone has to go to BOTH gatherings, get rip-roaring drunk, and party our asses off! All except for Piper Blush of course who we all know is a lightweight who can't handle her liquor. *snap*!

I think both events are compatible, especially since the get-together on Thursday is right on the heels of a completely different type of event!

I mean, any "sports fishing" person who's in town for the Friday Qnights will probably be in Montreal Thursday, so why not gather with fellow industry types for a few drinks & bites? At least can meet or figure out who is going fishing!

I wish you luck explaining your new resistance to your employer and employees that, like you, have supported FuckingLocals since the beginning. Gammae was among of the 7 Montreal companies I approached with the idea of these Local Gatherings back in 2014 â?? remember my Friend?

Maybe you can get a refund though? Your Gammae dollars are always welcomed here at FuckingLocals â?? or are they?! Wellâ?¦at least you know that every dollar spent at FL is a dollar that goes straight to our community.
