Just Saw A Near Miss Over London...

I was outside having a cig and watched this plane on a strange flight path - Another plane was coming in on the normal path in and they must have been able to wave at each other...

When they come over us they are at just a few thousand feet so it was pretty clear what was happening.....

I looked at FlightRadar24 and it was a Singapore flight that had an aborted landing at Heathrow just before by the look of it -

I had a serious WTF moment:Oh crap...

Do air traffic controll have to report them? - It would be interesting to see what happened...

Not to split hairs but you saw a near hit. If you saw a near miss then the planes would have collided into each other.

Eddythedog, glad nothing serious happened... wow, what a story, sounds mental!

ATC may not be aware of them but there are reporting procedures. Rules are for drones to not fly above 400ft (to give 100ft seperation from the 500ft low flying rule).
An aerodrome has a protected zone around it 2-2.5 miles radius up to 2000ft. Drones would need permission in advance to enter this area (for TV filming etc). Aircraft will obviously descend through 500ft as they come in to land.
