I depends where the link is coming from. Is it a ripoffreport?

OneHungLo 02-16-2016 01:13 PM

he'd be better off taking the $7,000 to the paper and bribing them.

arock10 02-16-2016 01:17 PM

Why not just hire someone on fiverr to send 10K links to it?

Can't hurt, and only $5

Google Expert 02-16-2016 07:31 PM

depends if it goes viral.

then it's worth it.

Horatio Caine 02-16-2016 07:59 PM

Let xxxjay make youtube video about using electric meat carver to trim his eyebrows. It will get 80 views by August 2017 and you'll be all set.

I wish this thread didn't make me curious.

It really depends on how important someone's name (reputation) is worth to them. I know a guy who owns and investment firm in Clearwater that got caught up in the Lou Pearlman Ponzi scheme a few years back. When you searched his name or the name of his firm, that came up first in the organics. He paid A LOT of money -- well over $100k to get it off the first page. Out of curiosity, I just Google searched his name, and it is still on page 1. Oops.

I think all situations are different. How much do they stand to lose? How much work will you have to put in? How much are they willing to spend? Too many variables to give your question an honest answer.
