Bernie is a hardliner on China also::

“Let’s be clear: one of the major reasons that the middle class in America is disappearing, poverty is increasing and the gap between the rich and everyone else is growing wider and wider is due to our disastrous unfettered free trade policy.”

China has been a problem for most of my life from rigging their currency against all agreements to retarded trade deals made by the US which has always caused a massive trade imbalance. Of course they are scared.... they have been struggling for almost a decade now with a fake economy and fake growth and the US is going to have to start doing something about it which is going to really put the hurt on them.

its pretty amusing that China is deeply concerned that the US government might get its shit together when dealing with them.

Public statements out of China over the past 20 years makes it very clear where they stand in the long run. They have even said war with the U.S. is inevitable.
First and foremost, they want Taiwan. That has been their position since 1948. Nothing has changed. China holds the most U.S. debt. China has the largest population. China is the worldâ??s largest supplier of goods and China has the worldâ??s largest army. If they team with Russia, it will be the end for the U.S.

While you're jacking you pud, China will continue to bleed the U.S. economy for every cent they can get.

Unless... Trump :2 cents:

War with China is inevitable, and in several scenarios they win. It may take 10 years, it may take 50, but it will happen.

This is the silliest claim you've ever made here and all you do here is make silly claims.

Free trade agreements with countries that have workers on USD$2 per hour.

Is destroying the living standards of the working class and most of the middle class. Who does it benefit?

As for war with China, that's only a possibility because the 1% decided to make China rich enough to afford the arms.

Wait until the upper middle class see their jobs disappear, then someone may stop and think about how the politicians put us in this mess.

unlike the "true economy" of the USA that prints money, produces nothing, and still manages to rack up 20trillion$ debt :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I'm surprised not enough Filipinos / Vietnamese and Taiwanese are applauding Donald Trump...

I don't think China will continue with its shenanigans in the South China Sea with a FEROCIOUS US presence there.

You're right, we should model Serbia and back our currency with chickens and potatoes.

Mutt 02-25-2016 06:25 PM

always amazes me how history repeats itself, back in the 19th century China did the same, refused Britain access to Chinese market while at the same time exporting high demand goods like silk and tea creating a huge trade imbalance - Britain unleashed a plague of opium addiction which resulted in the two Opium Wars. The utter defeat and humiliation the Chinese suffered was the beginning of 'modern' China, they will never trust the West and we will never trust them.

I honestly don't see how the world avoids nuclear war within the next century or less, unless it's some equally devastating form of warfare that isn't nuclear.

China is warning the US about Trump while the UK had a vote on if they should allow him in the country or not.

This is gonna be fun.

Trump fudges the facts on China the way Cruz fudges the facts on climate change.

EconoMonitor : Ed Dolan's Econ Blog » ?Truth Teller? Donald Trump Fudges the Facts about Chinese Currency Manipulation

Quote:

Yes, China is a “currency manipulator” in the narrowly technical sense that it uses monetary policy to influence its exchange rate. According to the IMF, so do more than half of the other countries in the world—friendly countries both rich and poor like Switzerland, Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Kenya and dozens of others. Having a fixed exchange rate, or one that is allowed to float only within a managed range, is entirely consistent with the agreed rules of international trade.
When politicians call China a currency manipulator, though, they have something else in mind. They claim that China consistently holds the yuan so far below its fair market value that even the best managed American companies could not compete if they tried.
A few years ago, in the immediate aftermath of the global economic crisis, that charge did have a degree of credibility. China had abandoned its previous policy of allowing its currency to appreciate gradually against the dollar and returned to a fixed exchange rate. By early 2010, US economists were estimating that the yuan was 20 to 40 percent undervalued—a margin wide enough to have a significant effect on the competitiveness of US exports.
However, Trump and others who still make the charge of currency manipulation have not been watching the numbers over the past five years—or if they have, they are hoping their listeners have not. Since June 2010, the yuan has once again been steadily gaining in value.
