Worst Oscars Ever?
 

The ratings are in and this year's Oscars were the lowest-viewed show ever.
The Nominations:

1. Chris Rock - just not funny?
2. Movies sucked this year?
3. Black snub topic ALL NIGHT LONG?

And the Oscar for biggest reason the Academy Awards 2016 SUCKED goes to.....#3!!!

The opening was semi-funny (especially when Rock slammed Jada and Will Smith). But then blacks being snubbed by the white Academy became the THEME of the show. Non-stop bashing us over the head.....WE GET IT. :helpme

Lady Gaga stole the show. But other than that I thought I was watching a Nightly Show marathon.

like most people in 2016 i was content in getting the info i wanted about the show from clips on social media / youtube.

He HAD to touch on the Race thing, I get it. Had he made a few good jokes, say what needed to be said and moved on with a regular, funny monologue and show it would have been 20X better.

He beat that shit like a dead horse. It was uncomfortable to watch after awhile :( And he's SO funny too. It was a shame.

i liked it! except for the biden/gaga bit and leo winning/his baloney speech.

The Oscars as an event was pretty low key yeah but the movies nominated were far from bad, quite the opposite in my opinion. Spotlight is an oustanding movie and needs more people to watch it.

In fact the only movies on the best picture nominees list I haven't saw yet is Room & Brooklyn, I plan to watch Room tonight, the rest of the movies were great and very deserving of being nominated. I'm glad Spotlight won, well deserved.

As someone else mentioned, tons of tits and ass. That girl who won best actress in a support role was looking amazing last night as was Brie Larson too.

But about the movies: can we have something that doesn't involve rape, molestation and death? How about a non-offensive comedy? I do not go to the movies to see the worst in human behavior but rather to get AWAY from the horrors of this world. Many of today's films glorify and wallow in human misery. Try going to a movie without guns or explosions.

What was with selling the girl scout cookies, that was weird, and kinda dumb.

I watched the first 20 minutes or so to see Chris Rock's monologue. I thought it was good, but not great. After that I just watched clips to see who won what awards.

This was one of the first years where I haven't seen most of the movies up for best picture. I'll have to check them out as they come out on DVD.

This is the most predictable Oscar ever!

Definitely weird. Given the constant white-bashing throughout the show - I kinda' thought he was trying to imply that black people were reduced to selling cookies among the rich.

I was thoroughly disgusted by the end of the show. As others have said, had Rock simply cracked a few jokes at the start of the show and moved on to other material, it would've been fine. But they just kept pummeling at it ad nauseum.

And then Sacha Baron Cohen gave the Black Panther fist salute near the end - that was priceless.

i thought it ironic the academy let dicaprio spew his political baloney but innaruti didn't even get his full amount of time before they queued the orchestra to play him off the stage when he won for best director.

Didn't watch most of it, but I expected Leo to win this year, though I don't agree with a win for Revenant. The movie had awesome cinematography, but that's it. Slow moving, not particularly intense (except the bear scene), and not as deep as I thought the story would be.

After both Star Wars and Hateful Eight, this movie put me to sleep.

Cheers for Spotlight winning best picture and Mad Max for gettin' some big wins!

Don't get me wrong, Leo deserves an Oscar, especially for Blood Diamond and Gilbert Grape. Wolf of Wall Street and Revenant, no.

Even Titanic he was better in.
Revenant left me cold.

The biggest problem for me when I was scanning through it this morning was that almost no acting awards were given out in the first 3 fucking hours. It ran so long that the show had barely gotten started before my DVR cut it off.
