I've never understood Lexus... If people want to pay more for a Toyota that's fine but... Why pay more for a Toyota when you can own nice Mercedes or BMW?

Not feeling it.

I would ask same question myself when sold Toyota why Japanese? If you actually compare a Lexus to a Toyota you will see there are some vast differences rather than just leather. Eg: better technology, more clutches, valve sizes, iron vs alloy materials. You may actually get more value and reliability with Japanese. Lexus has been known to give a Toyota a face lift and call it a Lexus but in past the technology has been vastly different. European car companies don't always manufacture where you would think doing same putting badges on less deserving cars.

In 1990s when Lexus began a BMW 3 series didn't even have power windows or color coded bumpers. So on entry level the Europeans were blown away with value for money by the Japanese. People really don't compare Beetles to 911s so that is how to look at badges on cars.

I do not see many people carriers on UK roads.

I am not sure if they are popular in other countries, but I suspect they do not sell very well.

So I cannot see Lexus making it.

Also those I do see, tend to convert easy into vans.
