Is anyone else excited about the new Cloverfield movie about to drop?

I am going to go see it the first night. Assuming it comes to Korea.

SBJ 03-03-2016 10:23 PM

really? I didn't think the 1st one was that great. I have it on dvd, maybe I'll give it another watch.

dyna mo 03-03-2016 10:25 PM

Why would they name it after the first one when it has nothing to do with it?

I heard it is in the same universe, so likely the small parasite creatures are in it.

We won't know truly until it comes out. They kept it a secret and reworked another movie they were making into this one.

I am hoping for good things.

I really enjoyed the first one. Though it was fun and an exciting fast paced movie.
Some science fiction/thriller will almost always get my nod of approval though.

Also, i am a fan of any movie that makes it into theaters over here..lol

Rochard 03-03-2016 10:48 PM

It looks interesting. Not the kind of the movie I would pay to see, but I would watch it on Netflix or TV.

Yeah, i m hoping too. It's weird because whatever goes down, seems to go down after she gets abducted, not before. I liked the first one.

The last Godzilla remake was a bad Godzilla remake. :(

bronco67 03-04-2016 07:10 AM

That's a really good trailer, BTW. The music, editng etc -- and making me wonder what the hell this movie is about without showing too much.

It's not a sequel to Cloverfield. It's more of a companion piece in that it was a secret project. Cloverfield was the codename for the first movie because the name had some kind of significance to JJ Abrams. This new movie has "Cloverfield" in the title, but it has nothing to do with the first movie.

The first one only works in the cinema, it was amazing in the cinema, but just OK at home :2 cents:

well at the time I bought it on dvd my home tv was a 106" projection tv with full surround.. My home theater is sometimes better than movies cause no one is talking on their phones.. Star Wars, Transformers, and Fast and furious movies I catch in theaters.. I buy a ton of blu rays though.

I see this isn't a part 2 from other posts though

As much as I agree with this, I still enjoyed the first one and I am pumped for this new one. Everything is better in IMAX right :thumbsup

I Absolutely *LOVED* Cloverfield. I saw it in the theatre and it scared the shit out of me. It's one of my favourites.

When I saw the trailer for this one I didn't know it was related at first, as it turns out, it is. There are some easter eggs in the trailer and threes some fun viral marketing going on. Plus John Goodman as a scary bad guy looks like great casting, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead is a cutie, and its been a while since I've been out to the movies.

Sid70 03-04-2016 09:25 AM

Noice spoilah.

Sly 03-04-2016 09:26 AM

I really enjoyed the trailer for it that I saw at Deadpool. I haven't seen the first one, it does look interesting though.

No this is not a sequel, this is set in the same universe as the original and has a new monster in it

lagwagon 03-04-2016 10:00 AM

I just remembered what I did like so much about Cloverfield.

The last one left me hanging. Hope they don't do that this time.

Scott McD 03-04-2016 03:44 PM

First movie gave me a sore head. Camera work was shaky as hell.

I remember reading reports of people being sick at the cinema watching it...

no doubt.. It was like Blair Witch Project all over. Was it in 3d? That would cause me to get sick and I love 3d :2 cents:

dillfly2000 03-05-2016 09:08 PM

Didn't watch the first one. Couldn't stand the whole shaky cam fiasco.

mineistaken 03-05-2016 09:14 PM

Since I did not watch Cloverfield this trailer reminded me of that movie where they lived under the ground thinking there was no life above due to atomic bomb :)

Scott McD 03-20-2016 04:25 PM

Just back from the cinema.

Was pretty good, although as expected the ending leaves you saying "wtf?"

Hmm will probably see 10 Cloverfield Lane this this week. Has good reviews on rottentomatoes.

CDSmith 03-21-2016 08:33 AM

I'll watch it. When it hits MovieCentral (now referred to as TMN, "The Movie Network" ooOOooh)

I enjoyed Cloverfield. It was one of those "you either get it or you don't" situations on the whole 'shaky cam' thing.
