Exactly

The PS4 hardware was already outdated when it was first released in 2013. Now the hardware is an absolute dinosaur. The console will simply never have enough horse power to compete with Rift and Vive. Since you can upgrade a PC and not a PS4, this gap will only continue to widen as the months/years go on.

Maybe but some of us remember a time when there was no PC and whatever computer you brought just wasn't upgradable. this meant that programmers had to get highly skilled at getting every last ounce out of the machine and every last sign of bloat is removed .. this is almost what you see with consoles as they get older.

Having said that - i never buy add-ons that cost more than the console

We used Oculus rift dev. kit 2 an year back for developing a health care project for fortune 500 ( internal project ). Best device. haven't tried vive from htc, samsung gear etc.

By the time it comes to market, there will be at least 2 more in the market better than them (StarVR & FoveVR) for a total of 4 on the market by launch time likely. Not to mention some other Mobile options from Apple and LG.
And speaking of quality, it is no better than a GearVR.

Sony has blundered this from the start. They had said they were in the VR space when the Rift came around the corner, but really, they were in the stereoscopic 3D space and that was very pricey.

They would have been much better off making a VR HMD for a PC and then creating a new Playstation that worked with it.
Dev's need to make the software work at 90 fps effective rate to prevent lag and motion sickness. A bit of a challenge for what you are working with. A lot of extra work for a DEV and many will be moving on to mobile and PC VR.

I use to like Sony a lot. But they just don't have what it takes any more. The whole PlayStation ECO-System is at risk here.

I give them till summer 2017 before the real data hits their stock hard.

So will there be sweet ps4 VR games? I'd view the other options as just very expensive ways to jerk off...

I still say this is gonna be the next big thing in porn as the hardware evolves.

I have never known Sony to be a low price leader in anything. Just pointing that out.

If you are looking at PlayStationVR for porn, be aware Sony still does not allow Adult on their platform.
However, it would be hard to stop a 360 video stream or 360 media file on any platform.

I can see that in about 3 years, a new VR / Holo experience will be coming our way nearly everyday. Each one out-doing the previous. The biggest thing will most likely be scarring folks since it seems to be easy to make someone poop their pants in VR.
