Played my first 18 holes of the year today. Stopped keeping count after the 3rd. :Oh crap
Looks like it will be back to the driving range tomorrow  Anyone else started playing this year ?? Helps if you get the weather for it (which we don't). |
I'm going to destroy you this summer. I'll give you a shot a hole :)

Golf is easy

Remember... hit the ball then the grass, not the other way around.

I'd kick anyone's ass at golf
on the Wii. |
Any online golf games.. maybe we can play..
|
I never understood the appeal of golf. Sports should involve a good workout.

Average golf course is over 5,000 yards in the shortest distance from green to pin, which means it most likely is actually 15% over that if you consider walking side-ways to your ball, getting from hole to hole, clubhouse to hole, and all the other shit that goes on. Lets say you walk 6,000 yards on your golf game, that is a 5.5km walk carrying your bag that probably weighs anywhere from 25-45lbs. Average hobby golfer will also hit anywhere from 75-110 actual shots, if you are anything like me you will also take 2-3 practice swings before striking the ball which means you perform some 300 shots per round. All in all, that is a very effective way to burn some good calories while having fun. |

On the other hand I remember reading an article that those top businessmen who do not play golf do make more deals or something like that. I forget the reason. May be this article: Does Playing Golf Actually Help Your Career? | CIO |

Nobody is saying you should quit your sports and switch it to golf, walk in the park or playing cards. They do not have to be substitutes, they can coexist together. |
