Watching Harry Potter

I have resisted watching Harry Potter for a good number of years but a couple of weeks ago my daughter forced me to watch The Philosophers Stone and I enjoyed most of it although it was a bit too long for my liking.
This week I was forced to sit through The Chamber of Secrets with popcorn.
Again thought it was Ok but fell asleep this time..

How many of them will I have to sit through ..

You are doomed to watch reruns of Harry Potter as you slowly die a sad death.

"Goblet of Fire" is the most amazing episode. Additional cast members, the Dance, the romance with Viktor Krum as well as the girl Harry drools over, the three contests, extended confrontation with Voldemort, and the introduction of Robert Pattinson to the world. Neville is set up to be the eventual hero years later, when in one brilliant sentence, he makes a life changing charm recommendation.

You've got a few more to go in the series if she's a die hard.

I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan, but not so much the movies as they are too simplistic. However give me the unabridged audio books read by Stephen Fry and I nearly cum in my pants...

There is a reason I don't have kids.

I watched them all with my kids. I didn't think they were too awful. Actually enjoyed them.

clickity click: There's 8 in all, from 7 books. The last 2 are part 1 and part 2 of the last book. They get darker as they progress and the Wizarding World gets wider and wider.

Stephen Fry is amazing! However, he apparently irked JK when he was informed there would be a sequel. From this article, which claims to have a review of a live show by Fry (which did circulate on the internet a while back):

Quote:

Saw Stephen Fry live last week, and he told us this story: Just after the first Harry Potter book had been released, he was offered the role of narrating it for audiobooks. He hadn?t read it, and was simply told it was a children?s book, so figured it would be an easy afternoons work. When he met JK Rowling, she mentioned that she was writing a sequel. Stephen replied very condescendingly ?good for you?.

A few years down the line, the books are selling well, and he is doing the recording for the Prisoner of Azkaban, when he runs into the phrase ?Harry pocketed it?. Stephen could not say this line. It always came out as ?Harry pocketeded it?, unless he said it ridiculously slowly. They tried time and time again to get it right, but to no avail. Eventually, he called up JK and asked if he could say ?Harry put it in his pocket? instead. She thought for a moment then said ?no?, and hung up.

The phrase ?Harry pocketed it? appeared in the next four books.
