Shoplifting Accidentally

If you walked out of a shop without paying for something and only later when you were on the street noticed would you return to the shop to give it back or ignore and continue?

I mean you walked out without knowing, ie; accidentally.

MiamiBoyz 04-03-2016 02:28 PM

Why would you want to ruin the "perfect crime" - NO

I would walk back to pay for it of course...

What it it's something you don't want? Would you not just give it back? Why pay for something you don't want?

L-Pink 04-03-2016 04:10 PM

I would go back and pay for it.

SilentKnight 04-03-2016 04:15 PM

Who goes through life unaware of what's in their hands?

You've just sliced into the enigmatic core of Clickity Click, but the riddle will never be solved.

Clickity Ckick is the sound he hears all day while typing inane questions for this message board.

It's happened to me, had a big ass bag of flour on the bottom of shopping cart and forgot about it. Yes I went back and paid for it after I realized at my car.

The only time I ever left a store without paying, it was a similar situation as this. I had a couple of things on the bottom of the cart and forgot to unload them when I got in line. The checkout clerk didn't see them and I got to my car before I realized what had happened so I went back in and paid for them.

No, because I lost count how many times stores "forget" to enter sale price into their system and keep charging regular price. This goes for grocery stores only. If that was something else like Home Depot I always come back.

PirrTaste 04-03-2016 08:16 PM

Probably not depending on how far away I am I would probably just keep going. If I don't want it or it's something I just can't use I'd probably just give it away to someone who could use it.

Rochard 04-03-2016 08:25 PM

One time my four year old kid was in a shopping cart and grabbed something, and we ended up walking out of the store with it not knowing. We discovered it when we got to the car. We returned it.

I believe in karma.

A lot of times when shit's supposed to be on sale I'll get home and check the receipt and find out I got fucked on the sale price and I won't go back as I'm not a scanner watcher. If something happens to not get scanned in the future I don't sweat it as I know I got fucked previously so payback. :2 cents:

Spunky 04-03-2016 10:12 PM

The police wont believe that story

No, no, no... you went back to pay because you wanted the product and for that reason you had it at the bottom of the shopping card. Clickity click specifically added another variable: Products you didn't want to buy but nonetheless walked out the store with...:winkwink:

I thought about this unusual question with uncommon variables and came to following conclussion: Hey Clickity click! Don't waste too much on lawer costs! I advice you to plead quilty; show regret and promise improvement:thumbsup

Rob 04-04-2016 06:40 AM

Go back and pay for it.

CurrentlySober 04-04-2016 07:48 AM

To all the Haters in this thread and also speaking directly to Clickity Click...

There is NOTHING wrong with doing that, at all... :2 cents:

If it wasn't for stuff I 'accidentally didn't realise was in my hands' when I left a shop, I would not even have any furniture in my house ! Let alone clothes on my back for that matter... You go mate :thumbsup

CDSmith 04-04-2016 11:11 AM

Anyone ever been CAUGHT while walking out with something you forgot you had with you and hadn't paid for? It's all fine and dandy when you have the choice to go back in and pay for something but what about when an innocent little mistake like this goes not so much in your favor?

CurrentlySober 04-04-2016 11:29 AM

Reminds me of an old episode of 'Malcolm in the Middle' - Lois has the boys come meet her at the shop and when they get home Dewey has picked up a bottle of $100 Cognac...

Lois insists on doing the 'Right Thing' and marching Dewey back to the shop to return it and apologise to the manager.

Instead of Dewey getting a good telling off as she planned, the manager fires her for stealing via her son and she loses her job...

going back will just get you arrested.

CaptainHowdy 04-04-2016 03:19 PM

Never happened to me. I always shoplifted on purpose.

davidclickpapa 04-05-2016 07:02 AM

happened a few times. when i realized the mistake hours later and i was far, i did not bother just told the clerk the next time i was there that i owed them. they were like "meh..." and didn't bat an eye. 'tis a silly place.
