Referendum Holland, 61% don't want Ukrain to join the EU

Yesterday there was a Dutch referendum where Dutch people could vote if they supported the European 'asociation Treaty' with the Ukrain. The treaty is for military agreement to work together, trading agreement, EU helping Ukrain with billions cause they are bancrupt and in the end that Ukrain would join the .EU.

I haven't seen so many politicians lying about the agreement as in the last 2 weeks to let people vote YES.

61 % of the voters said NO
38% voted Yes
1% don't know

So now the politicians are working on a trick to just go on and not listen to the voters. The referendum is not binding.

Some politicans said if you vote NO, you are a friend of Putin. There was even a poster from the NO-camp (PvdA, a left social political party, now in government) with Geert Wilders and Putin kissing. Saying "This love only can have losers"

Sickening propaganda. Also every media outlet constantly mentions Putin when they were talking about this referendum. I have not once thought about Putin when i voted. It's such a cheap tactic. And not once did they mention Poroshenko, who is the actual Ukrainian president, who is corrupt to the core.

I vote against the corrupt dictatorship called the EU, against the elite and their new pet project Ukraine to exploit with our money.

Yes, i didn't think about Putin either. Best for Ukrain to stay independent and sent the corrupt government away. Ukrain is rich, if they start drilling gas and oil. But 99% of the people will never profit from it with this regime. Now Shell (hey, that is a Dutch / UK company where our kings family has a lot of stocks) has his hands on most of the shale gas in Ukrain... Shell is not allowed to go for it in Holland because of sustainibility and environment, but don't care about Ukrain.

Also the "Animal Party" (yes we have a political party that only cares about animals), not to confused with "The Party Animals", that is a Dutch band with techno music). They found out the big banks in Holland Rabobank and ING lent money (hundrerds of millions) to big chicken farms in Ukrain where they don't care about the animals welfare. Things that are forbidden in Holland long ago, are allowed there. And Dutch banks, that in Holland say they also look after animal welfare and sustainibility now say they don't do anything illegal. They don't, but in Holland they are saying proudly how they look for a sustainable world. The ING is 1 of the banks that is saved by the taxpayers during the crisis and is now in Dutch government hands...

Conculusion; it is all about money money money

On the one hand, Ukraine is one fucked up place you would NOT want to have any dealings with so good job people of Holland!

On the other hand, lots of hot whores for the Red Light District, so....tough call.

Its about regional integration its best for all Ukrain to join Eu but their economy sucks

Rochard 04-06-2016 10:41 PM

How does the rest of Europe feel about this?

Paul Markham 04-06-2016 10:47 PM

Why does the EU need Ukraine to join?

It doesn't need Ukraine like it doesn't need Greece, Portugal, Lithuania, Czech, Poland, Croatia, etc. But the bureaucrats aren't asking that question.

And no EU country will ask it's people to vote on who can join.

Yes, Ukraine will benefit and Germany, France, UK, Holland, Denmark, etc. Will lose. Unless you're a landowner or employer.

Despite I am a liberal, I pretty much hate the idea of Ukraine (and/or Turkey..) joining the EU.. :pimp

If Ukranine will join the EU, the big eu countries will win, they will hire cheap workers, exploit the land and prepare to expand even further. Its all about the money! Small countries (if they dont know how to negotiate) will lose...

I wonder what happens now that the Dutch people have said no, it's not a binding referendum. How will the Dutch politics react?

Google Expert 04-07-2016 04:23 AM

lets import more illegal Somalis and Afghanis instead!

Yes, and the local people will get unemployed cause they don't work for a few cents. Than there is a big chance a lot of them end up with social security and so it cost even more. The problem in Holland is the social structure, if you know the rules you can get social security from the government. People from Bulgaria did a lot of fraud in Holland, there are whole villages running on dutch money now.

The parties that said yes, are the same that want to close the red light district

Who knows? Nobody dared to ask them if they want to sent a lot of money to Ukrain and than let them join the EU. Next referendum where people can vote about Europa is in England in 3 months, BREXIT or not...

Like they did with the las referendum about the European Constitution. Ignore it, change a few lines give it another name and go on like nothing has happened.

If they dare to make a European referendum about those countries, i think 65% of the people don't want them to join. But Turkey already won. Europe 'needed' them with the refugee problem. And because of that .eu gives all people from Turkey the possibility to travel around Europe without a visa. They are on the way to join the .eu step by step. I don't see why we see the Syrian war as our problem. Just close the borders so they can only go to other ismal countries. That islam countries suceed very well in keeping Syrian people out. Why don't we?

And don't forget we want our painings back that are stolen from a Dutch museum. They where stolen by an oligarch, but now the secret service of Ukrain has them, but don't want to give them back cause they are bribed by ....... There are people that want to give back the paintings, for millions of dollars...

And don't forget about the plane that is shot down in Ukrain MH17 where 193 Dutch got killed, some germans, british, malaysian, belgium and australians also. Also a big problem because our government fucks us with false information cause they are pussies and don't dare to insult Russia or Ukrain.

Paul Markham 04-07-2016 06:59 AM

The UK will exit the EU. I think it will be after the coming referendum. If not then 3-4 years down the line. A vote to stay can be turned around if the promises don't deliver what's expected.

The Dutch need to start voting for parties who want to leave. Then we end up with a Common Market and carry on Trading with each other.

The EU politicians are plain stuid and they act like little kids. We have a saying about such sort of people: "на зло маме отморожу уши" which can be translated as "I will frostbitten my ears to annoy my mom".

The only thing those idiots are thinking about is to annoy Putin and they don't realize how bad it will turn to their own people. Let's be honest and admit that the EU is bursting at the seams. There are serious problems between already joined countries + all that refugee crisis. Now imaging 45 millions of poor Ukrainians flooding the EU. Those people say it straight: they want to join the EU only to be able to flee from their sinking bankruptcy country. Just look at Sid70, he is so happy that he was able to run from that poor country affected by AIDS epidemic and finally stay in the EU.

Also keep in mind that Ukrainians are not some Bulgarians or Latvians. They have never been lived quietly. Do you know how many revolutions aka Maidans they had after 1991 when Ukraine has become independent?

Go ahead and let them join to make Putin sad, but you've been warned...
