Shit Amazon has SAME DAY delivery over 35 bucks

WOW, if you order before noon you get it the same day in a bunch of different zip codes. That is simply amazing and I bet will be a big game changer for them.

Another cash negative endeavor for the king of no profit.

Rochard 04-06-2016 10:39 PM

I love Amazon prime.

shiraz9944 04-06-2016 10:43 PM

I'm with ya I love prime.......you can order a huge bag of dog food CHEAPER than the store and get two day free delivery. Or in my case cat litter :(

lagwagon 04-06-2016 11:00 PM

They are Amazonazing for sure. I think we have daily packages showing up. Only thing I feel bad about is the waste of all the cardboard boxes.

Manfap 04-07-2016 01:07 AM

I live in the middle of nowhere and use it a lot, the delivery co must hate me.
$20 a year in Spain for free nextday delivery.

crockett 04-07-2016 01:11 AM

I love selling on Amazon.. buying is hit or miss as I have no reason to pay for prime and if you don't have prime they take their sweet time shipping.

loreen 04-07-2016 01:44 AM

Unfortunately Amazon is not yet available here... But I know I would enjoy it :)

I'd use it for $20 a year :2 cents: Its £79 a year in the UK, which might be good value for the film and TV side of things if I didn't already have the very top package available from my Satellite provider...

Amazon is slowly reducing the Prime service, what used to be a two day delivery is now a 3 day packing + two day delivery. I remember when they first started the orders would ship the same day. Now it rarely quicker than most other companies.
A lot of sellers have been asked to hike there selling price to help cover the shipping costs as Amazon is losing its shirt on the Prime deal.

Also a lot of items are now cheaper elsewhere, heres an example. I purchased 32oz bottle Braggs Organic Cider Vinegar for $12.99 on Amazon before checking local prices. I later found the local supermarket selling the exact same item for $5.99. My fault for not checking but after getting a reputation for great pricing Amazon are now increasing pricing to help them make a profit and hoping customer don't notice !!

Retailing 101, get a customer base and after you have them increase prices. Sure, some will leave but most will not. Man is a creature of habit.

This applies to both the amazon prime service as well as good sold. :thumbsup

I have two MASSIVE Amazon distribution centers within a 30 minute drive from my house. When I order from Amazon using free shipping, if it's fulfilled through Amazon, I usually get it the next day early in the morning. I used their same day shipping once, and it was only $11 for me.

I can't wait for their drone shipments to take off (no pun intended). That will be the game changer. Same day shipping has been around for a while.

They've never had same day shipping before have they? They have a huge splash promo on their page today about it, order before noon get it by 8 if you are in certain zip codes. No additional cost either, same as prime shipping two day and I've never had to wait days to process an order I just ordered a phone cover for 7 bucks and it was two days and shipped the same day I ordered.

Its not bundled with anything here, just the delivery options. I get around 10 things a month. So works out at about 15 pence an order.

And I order fridges, mattresses, desks... all the horrible stuff, hehe.

I had something delivered same day on September 17th 2015, and paid $9.98 for shipping. Maybe it was something they were testing in my area since I live so close to some of their major distribution centers. It was an iPad case for my daughter. I ordered at 9am, and it was delivered before 5pm the same day.

Here's a screen cap of the order details. It shipped the same day I ordered, and was delivered the same day. It's been an option for me since last year.

Actually sellers get fucked on the shipping as well. Let's say I sell a used xbox on Amazon. If I do merchant fulfilled meaning I stock and ship myself, then the shipping credit is about $7-8.

You can't ship a xbox for $8, at best depending where it's going you can ship it for $11 but could be as high as $15-16.

Amazon has fucked up the expectations on shipping by charging so little and now everyone thinks shit should be shipped free.

Sednub997 04-07-2016 03:22 PM

customer always on the first place.Very big move by them

It isn't, I have a look periodically, and it's just as shit as netflix, virgin, sky, etc. maybe 1% or less actually worth watching (discounting the footy on Sky/bt)

edited to add: I still think the £79 for next day is very good value, like many here I order a fair bit from them. Love it when my books arrive the next day :thumbsup

I see their delivery cars all over Chicago, personally never had an issue with Amazon. :thumbsup
