I thought Night of 1000 corpses was a great, great movie. It was scary, funny and stylish, and I loved all of the characters. It was totally entertaining. The sequel wasn't nearly as much fun. It was kind of plain as far as horror movies go. All of his other movies were boring. I liked the first 20 minutes of Halloween, but thats it. Almost all of his videos are boring too which is too bad. He clearly loves old horror and sci-fi movies like I do. I like his music and love his live show (I saw him about 10 times already). He clearly wants to make really good videos and movies but he just can't quite get there. "Fucking in a UFO" is a pretty good video I think. "Dead City Radio" is good for what it is - simple with fun costumes. "Living Dead Girl" is just terrible despite the homages to his favourite influences, and "Never gonna stop" just isn't interesting enough. Sure he loves Clockwork Orange, but he could have went further than just copying the sets and costumes. |
unfortunately, rob zombie has not done anything original since white zombie musically and devil's rejects theatrically. and even more unfortunately, all of his work since is simply derivative of other better movies. and he always has to use his wife as a protagonist. this video is more of that
a better version of Zombie's everyone's fucking on UFO is Primus's wynona's big brown beaver. |

And I can always listen to Thunder Kiss 65. |
I love metal, but always thought Rob Zombie was right up there was Marilyn Manson, talent wise, which is really low. Image with little substance. That UFO song borrows heavily from Primus - without the killer bass work.
