AC/DC Confirm Axl Rose Is New Lead Singer, Joining Band on Tour

The rumors have been confirmed: Just hours before Guns N? Roses are scheduled to take the stage for their triumphant reunion gig at Coachella, AC/DC formally announced that ? before GN'R?s Not in This Lifetime Tour kicks off ? Axl Rose will first join them as vocalist for the remaining dates of their Rock or Bust trek.

?AC/DC will resume their Rock Or Bust World Tour with Axl Rose joining on vocals,? the band announced in a statement Saturday. Rose will take the place of longtime AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson, who was forced to abruptly quit touring with the group or risk ?total hearing loss.?

?AC/DC band members would like to thank Brian Johnson for his contributions and dedication to the band throughout the years. We wish him all the best with his hearing issues and future ventures,? the band said in a statement Saturday. ?As much as we want this tour to end as it started, we understand, respect and support Brian?s decision to stop touring and save his hearing. We are dedicated to fulfilling the remainder of our touring commitments to everyone that has supported us over the years, and are fortunate that Axl Rose has kindly offered his support to help us fulfill this commitment.?

The band continued, ?The European stadium tour dates begin on May 7 in Lisbon, Portugal and run through June 12 in Aarhus, Denmark as previously announced. Following this European run of dates with AC/DC, Axl Rose will head out on his Guns N? Roses, ?Not In This Lifetime? Summer Stadium Tour.?

AC/DC added that the 10 U.S. shows postponed by Johnson?s sudden departure will also be rescheduled with Rose handling vocals.

Desperate for the few dollars. time for them to retire

beerptrol 04-17-2016 01:37 PM

All about the dollars! I wonder how he will do with ACDC. He doesn't have complete control like he does with GNR

kane 04-17-2016 01:50 PM

Here's the thing I wonder about. Axl has a well documented history of being late to shows and even having tantrums and canceling shows a few songs in. In the past he had big trouble just handling one tour, now he is going to handle two at the same time?

I'm predicting something will implode before long.

Brasshat or AC/DC?

ITraffic 04-17-2016 03:05 PM

Rose will start in Lisbon on May 7 and continue to Aarhus, Denmark, June 12. The 10 postponed U.S. dates will be rescheduled, and will also include Rose.

Rose will continue the Not In This Lifetime world tour with Guns N' Roses at the end of June, a reunion with guitarist Slash and bass player Duff McKagan.

Spot on, saw them in 1991 and he sang three songs and walked off the stage claiming someone threw a bottle of piss at duff. Nice excuse dickhead. Back then minimum wage at the pizza joint I worked at was 4.25 and hour, saving the $75 to see them was two days work.

2MuchMark 04-17-2016 04:16 PM

Axl as lead singer? Pass.

Robbie 04-17-2016 04:18 PM

Damn...Axl is singing his ass off.

I was in shock at the video footage of him here in Vegas with GnR sounding great. And he sounds damn good singing "Whole Lotta Rosie" in that vid above as well.

Looks like he finally woke up after almost 30 years of doing next to nothing.

MiamiBoyz 04-18-2016 02:30 AM

I was sickened watching his red bloated face. I threw up in my mouth a little bit but continued to jerk off. I am a real man.

I am really curious about this line-up but how could they fire Brian in this way after 35 years...
