NatalieK 04-18-2016 06:52 AM

Oh, to add, at least I write normal posts, and not repetitive "spam" posts, just to annoy. I'm also here to do business & not foul mouth other users of GFY like you with your sig.

You're the plonka :2 cents:

From the article:

New laws will force sites at home and abroad to check users are over-18 under a major new crackdown to protect kids.
Not sure how that would work.

Neither are the people who wrote this law. What's porn?

Does it include the porn on Twitter, FB, YT, Vimeo, etc? Yes, it is porn to many a closed mind and will need the jury to decide whether or not a fine should be imposed.

Why not give everyone a copy of Net Nanny and pass a law forcing new phones, tablets, laptops, computers to include a copy of the program?

Why not?

It would be far simpler, cheaper, achieve a better result and make politicians look as if they had a clue what's going on. So not going to happen.

Colmike9 04-18-2016 09:21 AM

Membership sites only, no tubes. That's the only way that would work... :upsidedow

Markul 04-18-2016 09:55 AM

Don't forget Google and other search engines, file lockers, usenet, torrent sites, etc.

I agree they are going about it the wrong way. They should just force every adult site to identify as adult (like RTA tag) then force every browser/device to recognize them and block them if desired. But then that might actually require parents to do some parenting instead of just letting their little snowflakes run wild on the internet.

The government loves these kinds of publicity campaigns, makes them look concerned and caring. I 'm sure they know this is as impossible as turning the tide around. They just think we don't know that.
